Study statistics.
Over a sample size of 12 games, a team that’s not that good (like OU) can go 10-2.
If it were a sample size of something like 120 games, OU presumably would not do as well.

To be fair, OU did statistically dominate the LSU game.
However, they beat Alabama and Mizzou despite getting statistically dominated in those games. So losing to LSU actually would have evened things out a bit for OU.
