Ok, a month ago many posters were looking at OU after Ole Miss loss and predicting a 6-6 season/finish.

In that time:

Tenn on road: WIN
Bama on road: WIN
Mizzou at home: WIN
LSU at home: WIN

From 6-2 to 10-2 where any loss and we’re out.

RED November we call it, homage to RED October many years ago.

No one gave us any chance of winning out and making playoffs. So no matter how ugly we won, we still won. And thats a tough schedule. Few teams walk into Tenn and Bama in back to back games with over 100k+ fans at each game and win.

Spare me with how we’ll never go far with offense. Defense can win championships and with some health and luck who knows.

We started playoffs after OM and are now 4-0 with potential of 4 more. Halfway there. Could end fast. But making the playoffs in SEC is a major achievement. This conf has so many teams that can win. Its not top heavy. I’d venture to say if aTm played our schedule they have more than our 2 losses.

Anyways, I’m pretty proud of what Venables has done rebuilding defense. Nowadays si many teams have these high octane offenses. OU had that forever and could never get over hump. This os our first crack at it with superior defense.

Brother this is the SEC. Everyone not named Vandy, Kentucky, or any school in Mississippi is damn near these attendance numbers.

Yes UT and Bama are good teams and there were very good wins for your team, but don’t tout the atmospheres as something unique. We all have them.

Great defense, abysmal offense. One and done in the playoffs.

Few teams could walk into the Cotton Bowl and not score a TD 3 out of the last 4 years.

That team you all put on the field today was awful. This is the worst team we have had in nearly 30 years and you all were a busted coverage from losing to us, at home, with the playoffs on the line.

The problem is you don’t have the offense to rest your defense. Play someone like OSU or UGA, with depth and it’ll become evident by the third quarter.

Also remember, you just have to the same number of points to LSU that WKU did.

This year has been the best OU stadium I have ever seen and it’s because every game matters. ABC has said OU as the loudest stadium they been to in last 3-4 years .

The best atmosphere this year had to be Tenn pregame . I do realize all stadiums have at time crazy environments . This year that hasn’t been the case at LSU. So far in order I think OU fans would say Tenn this year , Auburn last year .

Beating your chest about beating LSU at home, by 4, on a blown coverage, when LSU’s offense couldn’t score on a lot of Texas high school teams isn’t much to crow about.

We heard that before Tenn and Bama. Our defense is our offense. Along with ST

We scored 2 TDs to 1 today.

Riley left OU because he said he could recruit better at USC. And did it in the hardest conf. Riley still putting up gaudy O numbers, congrats. We flipped to defense and will see how it does in playoffs.

Venables made the playoffs before Riley. Sweet justice!!

Remember the “OU is the next Nebraska” and “OU won’t win another game this season” like, a month ago?

Me too.

A big chunk of that were people trying to dismiss the possibility that Ole Miss was actually good vs Oklahoma being bad.
