Let’s try to solve this mystery! Let’s try to make sense of it! What happened after the 3 back to back to back G5 teams?

Texas University can’t lose!

They will be more motivated to win this game than probably any other all season. I expect their defense to play well.

No way we can put up any points against the nation's 111th ranked scoring defense. Might as well not even play. Texas by 50.

They will be more motivated to win this game . . .

A somewhat nebulous statement, let's analyze it.

They = the team, the coach, the fans, Bevo? Who exactly are "they"?

Putting that aside you claim they "will be more motivated". So more than what exactly? More than they were against Ohio State or Oklahoma? More than the team they are playing? More than they were yesterday?

Not only are they more motivated, they are more motivated "to win". That's good, that's very good. It beats them being more motivated to lose or to go out there not to get grass stains on their uniforms or get hit by an errantly thrown water bottle, probably the most sensible thing you said.

Wait, you also said what you expect, "their defense to play well". First of all I am certain your expectations did not make the bulletin board of either team but nice to know where you stand on this.

That was the worst tryhard post I’ve seen.

There’s your answer. I guess social media has ruined your attention span to the point that you couldn’t read past the first 9 words.

What an idiotic troll attempt. Get schooled, Schooner.

It's what they used to call themselves and then they later decided that they needed to be called "THE University of Texas" because they are obnoxious and arrogant assholes. We just like reminding them of their history. It's also why we say "Saw Varsity's horns off" because they used to be called "Varsity" prior to being the "Longhorns" which they actually took from the original A&M Yearbook name.

All these aggy lies. aggy MO to say same thing over and over, then tell each other and it becomes true in their pea brain.

More Texans, first-gen students are applying to higher ed. Here's why.
The state of Texas established the "University of Texas" to be a "university of the first class" as mandated by the Texas Constitution in 1876. The constitution requires the legislature to create and support this university to promote literature, arts, and sciences, and it was located by a vote of the people. Over time, the University of Texas system has grown and includes many institutions that meet high standards of academic and research excellence.
Constitutional mandate: The 1876 Texas Constitution explicitly directs the legislature to "establish, organize and provide for the maintenance, support and direction of a University of the first class".
Purpose: The university was founded to advance literature, the arts, and the sciences, and it was originally intended to include an Agricultural and Mechanical department.
Evolution: The University of Texas has evolved into a major public university system.
Recognition: It has been recognized as a high-quality institution, evidenced by its membership in the Association of American Universities, a group of leading research universities.
Financial support: The state's commitment to the university is supported by a permanent university fund established by the constitution, which includes lands and other assets

Honest question, I couldn’t find this using Chat. Or Google.

I see the 1967 references being that they changed officially by legislature to “The university of Texas @ Austin”.

Just looking to find a legitimate reference, or if this is Aggie folklore tale that keeps getting passed down. Seriously, not a troll. I live in Texas, have lots of UT & Aggie friends and family.

Absolutely nailed it.

Aggies lie all the time, about everything.

They lie to themselves, and believe their own lies

They lie about their 21st man.

They lie about lying.

They're liars

Poor aggies

the very first diploma ever issued by Texas has "The University of Texas" on it. it was colloquially referred to as Texas University in old game programs, etc. so Aggies aren't totally off base but "they changed the official name from Texas University" in the 60s is a lie.
