IF we make the SECCG, is it possible -
1) for Bama to decline participation
2) if participating can the game end in tie so that SEC ensures maximum teams in playoffs?

Sir…ties haven’t been a thing in college football in like 20 years

I've decided since about the middle of last week that I'm not going to worry about the losing and instead focused on what it would mean to win.
Beating Auburn means 6 in a row with a real good shot that a game in Tuscaloosa next year will run it up to 7. When I was attending UA, this would have been my wildest dreams since we were in the midst of Auburn running up 6 in a row on us.
If we play in and win the SECCG, that means we are very likely earning a first round bye and our "guy after the GOAT" just so happened to win the toughest conference in his second year.
I thought about the negative path a bit in the post mortem of OU but it really does no good to fret over what could go wrong at this juncture. We know what is at stake and how it will be if the goals are not achieved. It's just more exciting to think about the positive possibilities I suppose.

We should be but I think they are itching to leave us out. We would need some other teams to lose IMO.

They would lose too much money if were left out. Leaving us out would be the beginning of the end for conference championship games.

Why would they want to leave us out? Even in this conspiratorial scenario where the committee is leaning toward who pops the bigger rating, Alabama is the most watched team in college football this year(and most years).
Are they going to leave us out for Miami, who has about 15 thousand people show up on any given week? BYU?
The truth is they’re going to put in teams they think are the best and if we happen to lose in the SECCG I don’t think it will be by blowout. We’ll be in.

I mean, y’all are probably right and I agree with your points. Let’s just win Saturday so we can speculate all week

That is no where near true. The massive drop the committee administered to Alabama shows what they think about the team. They dropped us SIX SPOTS for losing a two point game against a top 12 playoff team. Thats asinine but tells you we can't afford another loss regardless if its in the SECCG. We lose again before the playoffs and we're out.

I think we make it even with a loss in ATL.
Sankey would burn the whole fricking thing down if we don't. You want to accelerate the Big 10/SEC doing their own thing this is the quickest way to make it happen.
