Ole Miss has a better win, OU, and a better loss, UGA. Ole Miss strength of schedule is 24, TT is 58. By what other measure is TT two spots better?

Everyone knows Ole Miss will choke, even their own coach. No point in wasting a higher seed on them. Slot them in at 12

Just stop pretending that the CFB playoffs is an attempt to get the best 12 teams, seed them fairly and find a champion. It’s easy if you try.

Tech isn’t losing their coach.

Rumors of losing a coach isn’t a “data point” as these committee clowns like to say.

Their lone loss was w/o their QB and they were dominant on the national stage against BYU, though we’ve won a lot of games we’ve struggled at times which does make me worry when we play someone really good if the same luck we’ve been playing with won’t run out like it did in Athens.

I have less issue with Tech passing us than Oregon.

Why is ND ahead of Miami?

Why is ND in the top 20?

The entire Big12 is suspect to me. It feels like the committee is propping up Utah and BYU just to justify having TT in the top 5. I think Vandy beats both of those teams.

The committee is about balancing conferences out. You might not believe Miami deserves a spot but they do if Miami doesn’t slip up. You might believe the BXII is a one team conference but they don’t. Those betting on five SEC teams will be greatly disappointed.

Miami lost at home to Louisville and lost to SMU. ND lost to Miami by 3 and to us by 1 and hasn’t lost since week 2 (three if you want to be a stickler and mention the bye). This is one of the rare times when I think a team should be ranked higher than the team they lost to just because it seems that ND is a much better team at this point.

Now, should ND get into the playoffs over Miami if they both finish 10-2? Absolutely not. H2H has to count for something.

They’ve played no one. And I’m an A&M fan saying that.

Tech has played 1 close game all year and it was a loss without their starting QB to a ranked team. Their lowest margin of victory is 22 points, and yeah their schedule is weaker but they have beat 2 top 20 teams by 23+ points. Their roster also passes the eye test (outside of the QB)

Would ole Miss be favored on a neutral field? Maybe. But ole Miss also has 5 one possession wins and could easily be a 3 loss team.

Like someone else said, I’m not mad about tech being ahead of us. I’m mad about Oregon.

Obviously it is. The “committee” has never been about put the best teams in a mini tournament to crown a championship. It’s about getting the most eyes on TVs. And Ole Miss without Kiffin doesn’t bring eyes.

Ole Miss with me coaching brings more eyeballs than TT. Nobody even knows where it is located in Texas. The closest major media markets are 5 hours away, then Denver at 8 hours.

Better question is why is Ole Miss 4 spots ahead of BYU.

They have the same record. BYU has a stronger SOS. BYU has a stronger SOR.

They both lost their only games to 10-1 teams ranked above them. They both have one significant win.

Two very similar resumes with a slight metric advantage for BYU, but a 4 rank difference that's enough to likely keep BYU out of the playoffs unless they win their conference.

Because TTech was able to beat a powerhouse Pac-12 team in 2-9 Oregon State.

Not just anyone can do that. Especially at home.
