Because judging by the Internet that would seem to be the case…

I hardly believe the internet with so many alters etc is a gauge. The problem is timing. The way the NCAA set up signing day etc it puts everyone in an impossible situation. If he chooses to leave then he can’t be allowed near the school after. He talks like he will coach in the playoffs. That cannot happen. And no school would allow it. If we lose59 State then he will have tanked it purposely like he did in 2022.

He has a good eye for offensive talent and knows how to use the portal. But there are some downsides. Like never crediting anyone for a win and throwing players under the bus. Not as bad as Freeze but nothing is his fault. None of that matters if you’re winning. No matter where he goes his feet are going to be held to the fire. He hasn’t had that at Ole Miss. and LSU fans know that. With the command of all the talent in that state he can’t make excuses. So time will tell.

It’s not just Ole Miss fans. I question how serious he is about a championship. He put that team together, convinced those guys to play by selling them on getting to the playoffs, then appears to be leaving. That is not exactly earning people’s trust. Even if he stayed, I think the psychological damage he has done to his team will result in an early exit if they make it all (and they should).

The new calendar requires schools to fire coaches by week 4 of regular season.

It’s a freakin mess

A very small percentage of the fanbase is shitposting on Twitter and TD.

This is Kiffin. He always leaves a mess and turns the fans against him through his actions. Even when he is still the coach. More often when he leaves.

I can understand the frustration. Ole Miss has given him everything he has asked for and he says he has become a new person while in Oxford, so it is easy to question why that isn't enough. Is he really wanting to leave or just doing this for a raise, it can leave Ole Miss fans with some sour grapes.

I know it is a job and not a marriage, but sometimes to the fans it feels like the latter. Any fan base would feel the same way.
