ESPN’s Dan Wetzel writes what most of us are thinking re: Kiffin

Nothing all that revelatory or unique here, but (for me at least) it’s a good boil down of the Kiffin situation.
If he bails, Ole Miss would be right to burn him in effigy (and hopefully go Steve Fisher in the CFP), and any school that hires him should sleep with one eye open.
The man was on the verge of a good image rehab, but (IMHO) has relapsed like crystal meth tweaker.

You get what you pay for, I guess. When Al Freaking Davis dismisses you as a money-grubbing attention whore, that’s telling.

His success has made him a coveted coaching candidate, with two big-time programs seemingly willing to do anything to get him -- including ignoring the fact that they are hiring a guy who would walk out on the eve of the postseason.

I want him just to see how bad the melt is by OM fans...especially after throwing all the money yall have at him

should they not have done that?

This is dumb. Why is him entertaining other jobs worse than every other coach doing it?

I think there’s a big difference between entertaining other jobs via your agent talking to schools behind the scenes and sending immediate family members to other schools in a very public fashion during the regular season.

I don’t want him. He’s a brilliant offensive mind but this is totally unprofessional,

All of this will age very poorly for Lane Kiffin
Also, he's actually not that funny. His aura is built on very little.

Carter isn’t going to let him coach without an extension signed. He will pull our offer and suspend him with pay.

how do you get that from what i said? LSU and Miss hate each other...it's fun seem them stress while having the best season they have had in most of the posters on here lifetime

It’s become an annual tradition at Ole Miss. The only program in CFB in which the coach trolls the fanbase every November and December. LSU will inherit that tradition if they hire him. He can’t help himself.

Which is a sign of complete and utter immaturity. You don’t put that guy in charge of your receiving department, much less a college football program. You’re just begging for trouble.

Correct. I applaud him for what he has done at OleMiss. Really good stuff. However he is who he is, and that comes out eventually. He's a brilliant mind, but I don't get why you'd risk it if you are LSU even Florida. He will eventually bend ya over.

Except nothing is coming out from Ole Miss players, coaches, athletic department, or administration… No meltdowns, no accusations, no leaks, no speculations, not even the obligatory minimization of Kiffin’s importance ‘the our program wins the games not a single coach’ dismissal talk, or the passive aggressive social media unfollows, unlike, and unfriending…
All the players, coaching staff, and athletic department appear to be focus on the next game, no one appeared to be distracted by all the external noise, not even Kiffin.
Last Saturday, they played perhaps their biggest game in school history with their playoff chances on the line against a team trying to poach their coach. The team played and the coaches coached without any uncertainty… like perhaps they already know something.
The only people melting down are on the message boards especially UF and LSU fans, the few Ole Miss fans conditioned for disappointment, and sports reporters on TV and YouTube because they don’t have an ‘ insider executive’ to lead their channels with.

Also a sign of self sabotage. He gets close to the pinnacle of success and self destructs. He did it at Alabama and now Ole Miss. It’s a pattern. Some people are just like that.
