I'm so up and down that, honestly, I don't care at this point. It's interesting how much Walker and Tyler are back on the Kiffin train the past 24-48 hours.
I lean towards it being Ole Miss vs LSU. I think KC putting the ultimatum down was a great move. I think it should be this week though. He shouldn't be allowed on campus if he decides to take another role and we move forward with Judge as coach.
In my personal opinion, I'd be weary of hiring a coach that is willing to leave an 11-1 team with a shot at a natty for a new role.
If he leaves, imagine winning the natty under Judge and not giving him a ring

Eh, we’ve been dealing with him for 6 years. Everyone knows his ego won’t let him walk away from what could be a cruise to the semis if we get seeded right. Keith played this perfectly.

I go back and forth based on the day. Yesterday afternoon I was like 75-25 he was leaving. Today I've swung back around.
I agree that KC putting a deadline was the right call. We need an answer before the playoffs for a couple reasons - including time to line up the next HC before all the top options have accepted other jobs.
If I had to bet, I would bet he is staying - but I have very little confidence in that bet.

Keith has handled this perfectly. If Lane bolted at this point, his reputation would be forever tarnished and would make it look like he screwed over a University that had given him everything he ever asked for. That's something that Lane has worked hard to repair.
I'm 60/40 on him staying right now with an announcement being made sooner rather than later.

I think he wants to stay but I also think he's touring UF and LSU for two reasons....
1: Due Diligence(We've all looked into job openings while being happy with our current jobs)
2: Recon. Go check out how their programs and AD's run so that we can improve anything we're still falling short on.

You're missing the biggest reason - if he has agreed to leave and we do anything other than make the semifinals of the playoffs, he will be actively recruiting our roster for the opening of the transfer portal on January 2, 2026.
