For those wishing for a SECCG birth, explain the reasoning behind the risk.

Has everyone forgotten last year when we lost Beck in the SECCG? What happens if we lose Stockton in SECCG this year, not just for this season but potentially for the next 2 years? The implications would be far reaching.
Rationally there's no way to justify the rewards of playing in the game when weighed against the risk.

I read a spot in the game would break the consecutive championship game streak.
I prefer rest that week. But I think many want that record currently held by the gators.

Because we’re winners and an extra game gives us an extra scalp. Plus the word has always been you won’t get punished for a CG loss.
Not sure I 100% agree with that but that the reasoning.

If we lose any key piece due to injury that's a far worse punishment than any seeding order. It just baffles me some have forgot we lost our starting QB in last years SECCG and there's nothing saying it couldn't happen again.

UF went to the first 5 games so we would only tie that. Nevertheless, I would prefer what's best for our actual 2025 team on the field instead of just tying a participation record.

uh, what? You always get punished for losses regardless of when they happen.
The SECCG is basically a super high risk/high reward gamble at this point. To act like there's no downside in losing as it relates to your postseason outlook is foolish.

Not to put it out there but if lose to tech and then go to SECCG and lose to Bama...would we still get in you think?

I have always wanted UGA to win the SECC game...always. That was then, and this is now. The 12 team CFP has negated the conference championship game...ESPECIALLY the SECC game. I don't like it but, that's just the way it is.

Because I'm not a Beta.

This isn't science. In my opinion would be way less annoying and strange than rationally.

The CFP swears that they're not punishing teams for losing a conference championship game this season. They say a lot of things and who really knows, but I'm just putting that out there.

Kirby wants to play in it. That’s good enough for me.

I mean, all we have to do is look at what they actually do in real life.
From 2014-2022 they said a bunch of stuff about how they operate but the actual, black and white, real life results showed something a bit different.
You will never, ever not be punished for losing a game. Which is how it should be...I mean think about losing a game and it simply not counting. What sense would that make?

Well he can't very well say he doesn't, can he?

Kirby has to say that obviously.

In hindsight it sucks that we didn't make the inaugural SECCG. Florida wasn't all that great that year, and Brice Hunter dropped the pass against Tennessee.
Would've meant the we made the first SECCG ever played, the first of the 14 team era and the first of the 16 team era.
I'm not trying to convince anybody that it would or wouldn't be better if we played in it this year, but a victory would break the tie with LSU and give us 6 SECCG victories and we'd only be one behind Florida for second most in the conference.

I’m riding with Kirby on this even though I know the perils. An opportunity to win an SEC championship is rare. A lot of teams have never done it.
However there are scenarios where we could play bama 3x and A&M twice if we play in it.
We could even play tech twice too.
Another problem is not playing for over a month between tech and our first playoff game when this team is hot hot right now.
If we really wanted to play in it then we shouldn’t have lost to bama.
