Honest question. Where would you rank the Longhorns within their own state?

Can’t look solely at records obviously, because then you’d have to say that North Texas at 9-1 is better. We know that isn’t the case. But TT and A&M? Are they both clearly better? SMU isn’t close either, I wouldn’t think.

This season, I would say:
Aggy
Tceh
t.u.
others
Sad to see what NIL and the Portal have done to TCU. On a level field, they have produced some solid teams in recent years, but I think those days are now gone.

#3 with a chance to move up to #2 if they beat A&M.
I think Texas Tech is #1, but I may be wrong.

Anywhere from 3rd to 5th because you can’t convince me that there’s no way North Texas or SMU can’t beat them in a random game this season.
Edit: 6th because I forgot that Coog High is 8-2 this year.

There is a chance that three teams from Texas make the playoffs, and the Longhorns won't be one.

There’s even a chance that 4 Texas teams make the playoffs and tu still wouldn’t be one of them.

If that doesn’t spark urgency amongst all within the program I don’t know what will.
That’s actually a pretty funny fact

3rd behind the ags and tech.

I’d say 3 but I think Texas could beat both on a neutral field. But clearly 3rd.
Honest question how does north Texas or any do playing at osu and UGA? If it’s the same as Texas then no reason to assume they are better

I don't understand the love affair with Tech. They play in the B12, and already have 1 loss to ASU who is not great. I would not put them above any SEC or B1G 1-loss or undefeated teams

UH and SMU are in the playoff hunt so horns are currently at 5.

We would beat both of those teams. If you’re simply referring to who can make the playoffs then sure.
While sark is not the guy who can win it all. He’s still better than a lot of coaches out there and good enough to beat those two.

SMU has an argument against TX. TT I think is the real deal and will be a threat to any team in the playoff with that hired gun defense. No one will be able to just line it up and run on TT.

At 3-7 South Carolina would beat Texas on a neutral field.

We don’t have any factual evidence to back this up, but early season Georgia loses at Columbus. Even their fans are saying they weren’t great to start the season. But since we are talking Texas teams, A&M in Columbus? I don’t know. That game was pretty close for the Horns early in the year. A&M has been pretty good on offense all season. Defense is where they have all kinds of question marks. TT in Columbus I don’t think they win that game. SMU or North Texas? No chance

That’s fair, I meant teams not name atm or tech but u would agree as well not sure either those teams are better. We will see how Texas does against atm in 2 weeks

Ahh North Texas and Texas probably have about the same odds which is neither is likely to happen.

N Texas will get the group of 5 bid if they win out.
