All things considered - and correct me if I’m wrong - but Georgia should be hoping Bama and A&M win out and keep them out of Atlanta correct? It’s looking more and more like an 11-1 UGA gets a top 4 ranking and a bye. What’s the point of playing an extra game in Atlanta, risking injuries, and getting the exact same result and possibly dropping out of the top 4 with a loss?
If this doesn’t show how retarded the CFP seeding system is idk what will

Spurrier a former Florida HC said that it was harder to win the SEC than it is to win a NC.

This is exactly what I hope.

If Ags and Tide win out and Bama wins SECCG, UGA will be 5 at best

Only if you’re a pussy. UGA wants to win every game we play and the SECCg matters

Yeah, Dawgs won’t stick at 4 unless aTm beats Bama. I still think Kirby would take the extra week of rest on the front end to play a low seed first round than play a very physical SECCG for a first round bye.

We hear this quote before EVERY SECCG.

UGA is simply hoping to win all their games. I don't think Smart cares all that much one way or another about what other teams do, win or lose. He wants to beat all the teams that are put in front of him.
I think the players feel that way too. And to be honest, they're probably confident enough in themselves they would like both a SEC and NC trophy.
Fans are the ones who think this way mostly.

I'm okay with it.
But if both Bama and Ole Piss win in 2 weeks, there will be a 3-way tie for 2nd and Georgia would go.

Not since 2011.
Like much of the tradition that made college football so wildly popular, it's irrelevant today. Money is all that matters, and the NC just means more money.

I’m of two minds
On the one hand - we’re already in no matter what, and we’re also dealing with several major injuries, so why play a 13th game pre-playoffs and risk more of them for a marginally better seed?
On the other hand - I ALWAYS want to win the SEC title

Because if you don’t play in it, they want to hold it against you.
You DO play in it & get criticized about not resting, healing, & possible injuries.

I don’t even care about that.
I just want the trophy

Thank God coaches and players feel like this. Most fans, no.

By the same token, it would make objective sense for Aggy to throw the t.u. game in order to skip the SECCG
But I don't see that happening, either.

I do agree with this 100%. That said...if the #5 ranked team plays in thier CCG and wins it is possible..maybe even probable they would jump an idle Georgia. I don't think I would let that worry me too much, either, though.

Alabama holds the tie breaker. They would still go.
