My daughter, that’s who. The wedding begins at 5:30 but I’ll be tied up with wedding stuff the entire 2nd half of today’s game

Sooners, I need you to have this game under control by halftime. That’s all I ask

Probably at least a couple Christmases until she forgives him for not being there.

Arkansas fans. They NEVER have any Nov/Dec conflicts.

Goes without saying that January is always also wide open.

You can look at this in two ways:

1. Why on earth would anyone ever do this?

2. At least you won't spend as much money because half the people invited won't show out of principle.

My daughter got married in Oklahoma City in October of 2012 on a Friday night, the day before OU / Texass.

Cost me $25K.

A game for a college football team that doesn't know or care that you exist is causing you consternation on your daughter's wedding day?

iN 1998, I was a groomsman in a wedding scheduled on the same day as the Big 12 championship game between Aggy (#10) and Willie the Wildcat (#1).

I informed the groom that we WOULD have a TV in a side room during the reception and made the arrangements.

The male half of the wedding party spent most of the reception in that room, and it took a while (double-overtime win for Aggy).

Mrs Zwin and I did.

A&M was on a bye week.

Screw those other schools and their fans.

Sounds like a parenting failure and nothing to do with your daughter. My parents were adamant we scheduled ours during an off week, so we did.

Maybe there was a a shotgun and calendar deadline involved here.

It IS Oklahoma, after all.

Rant gonna Rant.

Congrats on the nuptials, sir. We got married in the spring for this exact reason.

Another marriage faux pas: outdoor summer weddings in the south.

Enjoy and congrats.
