What a soap opera!! Imagine another coach interested in job seeing all these legal maneuvers and now telling lawyer to make an ironclad contract. Or maybe it scare some prospects away? All this public lashing is not good.

In a legal filing obtained by ESPN, Brian Kelly’s lawyers state that LSU is saying it never “formally terminated” Kelly and are now seeking to fire him “for cause” which could impact his near $54 million buyout.

Kelly is seeking a declaratory judgement that LSU did fire him and he is entitled to “full liquidated damages.” LSU declined comment. For @espn

More:

The 48-page filing in East Baton Rouge Parish references a phone call Monday where LSU laid out its position.

“LSU’s representatives had a call with Coach Kelly’s representatives, where LSU took the position that Coach Kelly had not been formally terminated and informed Coach Kelly’s representatives, for the very first time, that LSU believed grounds for termination for cause existed.”

Kelly, in the suit, denies there “were any grounds for termination with cause.”

If you’ve ever done business in Louisiana, you know this. Everyone has their hand out. It’s a 3rd world country.

What an absolute clown show.

And to think, they expect this won’t impact Kiffin’s decision. Sure, cause he’s never been caught with an indiscretion ever. I’m sure Joey Freshwater wants to try out the brackish swamp water after this saga.

Because it’s shitty behavior? Because it’s all a transparent lie to try and prevent LSU from being legally obligated to do exactly what they promised they would do?
