A&M's schedule

I find it interesting that ALL year, ALL we've heard about is how easy Mizzou's schedule is. A&M may have the weakest schedule & easiest path to an undefeated season in the SEC. A&M barely beat an overrated ND team. They got a shite LSU team with no coach. They got a wounded Mizzou team with a 3rd string freshman QB starting his 1st career game. They get a flawed Texas team to round out the season & the rest of their schedule is complete dogshite. Now, saying this, I know they didn't make their SEC schedule, but damn, how lucky to get so many teams with flaws &/or injures, then the rest of their schedule is complete trash. Give'em credit for winning games they should, but when they have to play top teams in the CFP, we'll see how far they get.

It’s a challenge to make it through any season unscathed, which is why it’s uncommon. Injuries, down weeks, travel, weather, whatever.
A&M didn’t create their schedule. But they’ve done the absolute most they could do with what was handed to them.
It’s been a long time since we’ve avoided losing the ones we shouldn’t. So if you don’t mind, I’ll take our 9-0 in mid-November.

I love this. It’s Texas 8&4 all offseason then it immediately flips to “look how weak their schedule is!”.
“Wait until they crash in October”
“Wait till this road stretch they go on”
“Wait until the typical November crash”
Sure, whatever you want to call it

SOS and SOR rankings do not agree with the “weak schedule” narrative

That 100 year Texas 8 & 4 team has beat LSU 2 years running.

Yep, give them credit for winning their games, but let’s put this “Mizzou.SEC easy schedule BS to bed. Bama & A&M are way better than people thought. Oklahoma in Norman is a tall order Moo St & AR at their place could be a trap game for any SEC team. Auburn is always tough at home & their D is legit. Vandy at their place is a tough game for anyone.
A&M’s SEC schedule lined up very favorably considering a lot of years LSU, TX, Mizzou, others are good. Guess we’ll see how they do against the big boys. I do like Elko. What a hire for A&M after the Jimbo experiment.

This would all sound a lot better if we hadn’t just (effectively) mercy knee’d you inside the 10 already up by 3 TD’s.

We didn’t just beat LSU two years in a row. We embarrassed them.

I think if Elko stays, Texas 8&4 may be changing.
We haven't had a coach like this since Sherrill.

You do realize there are many posts on your board and also on the rant by Missouri fans talking about how the backup qb is much better and will be an immediate upgrade
So before the game it’s “we’re gonna be better now!”
After the beating it’s “well of course you won, we didn’t have our starter!”

very good team propped up by a historically lucky SEC schedule.

For Ags of a certain age, Jackie remains the gold standard. He didn’t win natties, but he took a team that was used to losing and made it used to winning, and expecting to.
And he did it by taking every opportunity to poke his finger in the eye of our biggest rivals. He was the last coach we had with swagger and the ability back it up (usually).
RC was too much of a gentleman to have the same aura. Great guy, but didn’t project that killer instinct.
Since then, it’s been all paper tigers.

I don't care what the rankings say. A&M has an easy path to the CFP. It is what it is. Just look at the schedule & you can't deny that.
Let's say ND gets the win in a close game (could have went either way), Mizzou has Pribula, Norfleet, etc. & wins, you lose to Texass & LSU wasn't complete arse or you drop a tight one to either Auburn or AR, you have your 8-4. I get it. The margin for error is thin in the SEC, but let's not act like A&M is world-beating great teams (or healthy) teams. I have nothing against A&M. They deal with a lot of abuse around here & are entering uncharted territory, so more power to them. I am just stating facts with regards to their schedule & dumb luck this season with opponents dealing with injuries or unexpected down years.

Same as last year, schedule is what it is. Beat the teams on your schedule which Aggy has done.

Only an idiot would expect a freshman QB, starting his 1st game ever, missing his star tight-end, to go in & beat a top 5 team with a solid Elko coached D. That is just dumb. I thought he would do better but Kirby Moore called the most conservative, shite game plan I've ever seen. He set up Zollers to fail. Very predictable & simply put, total arse.

Well hold on there pardner.
This Texas team has had a bumpy road - no doubt - but I think we need to give Aggie full credit for the Texas game. Just because Texas is not the world-beater that some expected, does not mean its not a worthy opponent.
Aggie may beat Texas, but I wouldn't just call it a gimme by any stretch.

Mizzybilt fans that are tired of hearing about their central heating and air ooc teams ALL YEAR….ALL YEAR bring up the subject in an OP.
Clockwork.
