Do Auburn folks really want DJ Durkin?

I’m seeing plenty of people on social media wanting to elevate Durkin to the full time gig. I get that his side of the ball has done well, but why would you want any leftovers from the staff that has brought you the last 3 years? How can you not want something completely new?

Better hire a defense coordinator for this year first, seems like they forgot about replacing the guy they gave a promotion.

Obviously, if the loud social media ones did y’all would be trying to replace Cadillac right now.
But, it seems like he’s likely on the list. May just be a courtesy interview type thing, who knows, but there’s energy there.

You could hire him cheap and he has HC experience byes he has a checkered past but Hugh liked escorts so morality is not a deal breaker.

bullshite. I had tons of debates with Auburn fans telling me Harsin was a great hire and that I was wrong when I pointed out Boise St declined after he took over.

First, I am not an Auburn fan, but I have an observation, for what it's worth.
The case for Durkin is that he remarkably rejuvenated the Auburn team in one week and actually formulated a game plan that challenged a very effective Vandy offense. (Contrast this to the Florida interim.) He has the defense part covered. Spend the money and hire a quality offensive staff. Visit the portal for good offensive players. Why search for the elusive White Knight when you have a proven coach right now?
