No one is more valuable to his team, and no one has been more responsible for turning a program around more than him. I don’t know who leads in that race but it should be Pavia in a landslide.

If they gave Heismans for embarrassing the frick out of Auburn, this MF should be in the Heisman HOF

Pavia has been great, but Mendoza has Indiana in the top five. I think he gets the nod.

No doubt. He wanted to come to Auburn and Freeze didn’t recruit him.

Until Ohio State embarrasses them in Indy. Sayin will get the nod.

Except he was outplayed by Ty Simpson head to head.

He deserves to be at the ceremony though.

Mendoza has played a crap schedule and needed a miracle catch to beat a team that's lost 6 games in a row.

Especially for taking the ultimate college football doormat to heights previously unknown. But they always choose guys from the big programs even though it is easier to look good with better players to support you. Anyway, he better be invited to NYC.

He has cratered in the biggest games this year which is not a Heisman winning characteristic.

Reed deserves a serious look. He has very good stats but more than that he is a real leader of the team and just makes plays when he needs to. Yesterday his stats were decent but he made a key audible when he saw the blitz coming and set up the slant TD to KC that really put Mizzou in a big hole. He really didn't run all game and then late he tucked and went for a 28 yarder that set up the final dagger TD. Dude can beat you in so many ways and he's a real field general out there who knows how to use the weapons around him.

His Heisman moment was also on the road against a Playoff Notre Dame team. Mendoza is getting worshiped over a win against a Penn State team that has been less impressive than Auburn and Florida.

I wonder if Heisman voters all hold their ballots long enough to see the outcome of that game. I know in the past a lot of ballots were submitted before the CGs were played.

Yeah, same storyline, but Indiana is undefeated and Mendoza has slightly better passing yards.

Just having a dude from Vandy and Indiana in NYC will be pretty wild

Mendoza

Barring a complete meltdown. He will win it.

He can't help his schedule. He has played well at the worst historical P4 school in CFB.

And, he will get a unified vote from anti-SEC Bias media members.

See if you do:

He's 10-0

Has his team in the playoffs

At Indiana

You can see Diego's disadvantage

All of that is true, but none of that makes him the best player in college football.
