Ten of those losses being by double digits, average margin of defeat being 16.8 per game.

So, we are basically like the rest of the SEC when they play Bama as well.

Look at that 2019 beat down in TTown
Coach O drug his nuts all over the bama fanbase that night

2019 was hardly a beat down.

5 point win is a beat down? Coach O is available why not rehire him since he was able to deliver such a beat down?

Truthfully LSU fans build that game up because it’s all they have over Alabama in the last 15 years. A five point “beatdown” and a one point OT win where they went for two and won.

Maybe they can get Burra back when his toe feels better and the Bengals waive him.

No you are not. Those booger eaters in west Georgia have even faired better than any of the others.

The point you seem to be attempting to make is that “LSU is just like everyone else when it comes to Alabama.” Which is wild because LSU fans and national media have spent two weeks trying to convince everyone that the LSU job is one of the best in the country.
Sure the last three coaches before Kelly have titles but 2019 is the outlier when it comes to the program. LSU has consistently been a 3-4 loss team since game of the century and hasn’t been all that great since everyone started paying players.

Saban fricked LSU up big time!

...to boot Alabama looked like crap last night.
I wonder if Kelly would have made a difference?

The greatest team of all time gave up 41 to Bama and only won by 5 then lost by 38 points the next year?

You would expect a “top job in the country” to have more success against Alabama. If I’m a candidate, do I want to come to LsU and deal with an Alabama program that traditionally LSU can’t beat on top of dealing with Georgia, aTm who is on the rise, Texas?
Lane for example. Does being at LSU give one an advantage? Not nearly as much as it did 20 years ago. Kelly proves that - winningest coach in the sport and couldn’t sniff a title in Baton Rouge, all while getting blown out repeatedly by Bama and fired within five years.
Point being, the LSU job isn’t near as desirable as some make it out to be and Alabama’s presence doesn’t help matters.

quote:Meh. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We are not the standard bearer of the SEC. Bama is. But we do pretty well outside of playing them. This year has been a train wreck. But I am confident we can find someone who wants the challenge and the available resources. We just need to accept that it will not be the latest big name. It is not going to happen.

We took three relatively obscure coaches and they won national championships at LSU. Then we tried to find the next Saban (good luck with that) and whiffed big time on it. I have realistic expectations. We do not have the winning culture of Bama. But we can be consistently competitive with the resources we have.
I would be happy if we could find someone like Elko who brings back a degree of toughness to our program.

Gave up 41 with an unhealth defense….and Bama still didn’t have a chance to win.

I remember that game. According to LSU fans, Alabama was one injured Hawaiian away from beating the best team in college football history.
