Would the fans of the teams with openings be excited to get him? He hasn’t seemed to be super happy at Clemson this year.

Florida?
LSU?
Auburn?

Dabo is an excellent coach. 2 titles at Clemson which was basically the Aggy of the ACC for a long time.

Beat Saban for both titles. One of them was a complete dismantling.

ALL THAT SAID: What you fear with him is a hunger deal. He might not be hungry. Though, new scenery can help in those regards.

Factor in age.. then factor in the SEC gauntlet.. he might not care for the grind.

I don't need Chatterbox to tell me that he has substantial risk tagged to him at this juncture.

I can’t see him leaving Clemson but then again nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to abortion that is college football now.

Heupel would be the better choice.

Hell no to Dabo for LSU. 5 years ago sure… today, absolutely not.

I’d take a 4 year Saban contract. Not Dabo though. For LSU.

The only way you take Dabo today is if you get him to agree to utilize the transfer portal and coordinate with NIL reps.

Neither of which he appears to have any intention to interact with in his current role as HC at Clemson. It seems he's content to ride his program to the ground trying to "make it work" without those things, and holler at anyone who questions him or his lack of recent success.

Would not touch, but hey, maybe he'll prove me wrong some day.

Dabo is only 55. Hardly someone ready for the coaching old folks home.

Big thing about going after Dabo, if a school were so inclined, is the fact that his current buyout is 60 million dollars. If it was Alabama looking the contact buyout would be 90 million.

Dabo is making something in the neighborhood of 12 million per year, he ain’t walking away.

I seriously doubt he would turn down booster money for NIL. Problem he has is their boosters don’t want to pony up.

Reading this thread is comical.

Dabo Swinney is the biggest fraud in college football history. The portal and NIL are stupid talking points. He has one of the most talented rosters in the country. His assistants that were with him that entire ten year run are gone. Look what Tony Elliot has already done with far less talent at Virginia, undefeated in the ACC, Venables at Oklahoma. Clemson would be 2-10 with an SEC schedule this year, and some morons picked them to win it all.

I fricking swear. I would not hire Dabo for free.

I mean, are you a fraud if you assemble a talented roster and hire great assistants, leading to two national titles? He had a really great run. Whether or not he can adjust and return to that level remains to be seen, but most teams would kill for the run they had.

Let me explain Dabo to you. There are 2 mega churches in the upstate and their members provided jobs and housing for recruits for years. That was No 1. The No.2 is when Dabo took his hands off the offense and hired an OC and a DC who could coach. Dabo is just they guy who cannot coach but used the 'stretching of the rules' and good hires to get players and wins. The NIL made that moot and that is why Dabo hated the NIL. He knew it would be his end game.

I would hire one of his great assistants knowing what we know now. I would never hire someone who was never a successful coordinator first.

Oh god here we go with this crap. So they never cheated before Dabo? And no one else ever cheats? Just those bad men that win. Usce has cheated for years, hell usce steroid factory article in sports illustrated was part of the inspiration. Where’s all the titles for usce then? Surely they could muster better than one shared acc title if it’s so easy to just cheat and win right? You couch cushion Paul finebaums are retarded

See.. you post dumb stuff you are clueless about. The church members that were providing jobs and housing was not an NCAA violation. There was nothing 'free' in what they were doing (I would argue that was BS) and the NCAA could not do anything to stop it. It was widely known it was going on. It was done out in the open. The cheating was not in violation. It worked while it worked... but like I said the NIL kicked that crap out the window.

Hasn't he poo pooed the NIL and transfer portal. Like it or not, if you are going to coach in today's time, you better use it to its limit or you will be left behind. Might explain his dismal record this year.
