Look at this season and the scores. Everybody can win, everybody could lose.

And that's good for the sport. More people will be in the stands because they believe they have a chance. More people watching for the same reason.

This means more revenue...etc.

These games have been fun to watch this year.

Absolutely! It's fun watching these close games.

But somehow it hasn't translated to the big10 having exciting games.

Easy to say when your team is winning.

You don't see MsSt, Arky, SC or Auburn fans saying the product is better.

In the sec sure, but big 10 is still ohio state. They sons 25 mill a year on roster. It's like the Yankees, dodgers or the chiefs. It's about who has more money.

There needs to be a cap on NIL and if they get the money up front they need to pay back for the years they bailed on.

Yep there is a ton more parity and a lot more teams have a realistic expectation to make the playoffs then ever before - which is a ton of fun.

It's also why coaches potentially looking to make a move are mostly only going to care about NIL and administrative alignment when considering their current job to a new job offer. Those two things are far more important than anything else in winning today's game.

Agreed

When will fans accept the reality that winning 10 games per year, every year, is not realistic when the conference is basically the NFC North?

We want to run coaches out of town after every loss.

Why is the expectation so much different than the NFL when the product gap inches closer and closer.

Not sure parity means better product when it comes to the top teams, but yes it does make the games fun. There’s just no teams that would compete from teams just a few years ago.

Not today, but seeing what Vandy, TTU, and others have done overnight, should give them hope.

It is the NFL. No more dominant teams

I prefer the old way because rivalries and conference championships mattered more and don't that much now.

However it did nationalize the sport once again, it had become highly regional for the past 20 years

Need some kind of salary cap to make the playing field level across the conferences.

I liked it better when it was only Alabama paying players openly. At least we all knew who the villain was.

Five teams have 1 or 0 SEC wins. Sure, sure.

Bum fights were usually much more entertaining than watching a Floyd Mayweather boxing match.

That doesn’t mean the bums were better boxers than Mayweather.

Closer games do not equal higher quality. The quality of play is actually down.

This is just confirmation bias.

It's the same shite as always, and if anything the quality of the games themselves is way down because players don't get developed as much as they did previously.

The entire game is dumbed down.

I don't think DeBoer even gives a shite about field position.

Its watered down the SEC. Whereas it has strengthened the Big 10. The SEC not only has lost talent from the conference but the talent that stayed is now spread out throughout the conference. Its why there's no real dominating team in the conference. They all have obvious flaws. Winning a NC for the SEC is now exponentially harder.
