They massacred settlers who were passing through, blamed Indians they hired to help them, then destroyed the memorial the US military built for the dead. Brigham Young was able to blame it on his underlings b/c the Civil War happened before an investigation could be done.

I'm sure there's alot of really good god fearing people.
But the religion itself is made up by a man that thought he was a prophet who had been given divine inspiration to make up this religion.
