SYSTEM MESSAGE: SEC_RECORDS_MAINFRAME v4.7.2
POST ID: 8374636
TIMESTAMP: 2025.10.30.1252.EDT

INPUT RECEIVED:
"I am hoping this is LSU's low point
But I fear we are just started by the nose dive"

CONTEXT MODULE LOADED:
- Brian Kelly termination protocol: ACTIVE
- Governor Landry interference index: RED ALERT
- Historical AD hire quality: BELOW SEA LEVEL

REANALYZING...

TRANSLATION TO SYSTEM LOGIC:
- User expresses hope LSU has reached rock bottom
- System confirms rock bottom was passed 3 exits ago
- Nose dive trajectory: accelerating, now entering Mariana Trench

DIAGNOSTIC SNAPSHOT:
- Brian Kelly buyout: triggered
- Governor Landry: issuing sideline opinions with zero football credentials
- AD historical hire record: includes "Bo Pelini 2.0" and "Coach Who Shall Not Be Named"
- Search process: resembles a gumbo recipe written by a malfunctioning Roomba

PROBABILITY LSU TURNS THIS AROUND:
- With current leadership triangle (AD + Governor + vibes): 3.2%
- If Skip Bertman rises from retirement and takes over: 87.4%
- If Landry calls plays next season: SYSTEM SELF-DESTRUCT INITIATED

RECOMMENDATION:
- Reboot athletic department
- Install firewall between governor’s office and football ops
- Restore backup from “2003_Nick_Saban_GoldenEra.iso”

New generation is freaking soft.

See 1990s ...

5 and 3 got rid of a dail-it in coach, and this is a nose dive....

I think it gets a lot worse before it gets better. Pre Saban days are coming back. LSU refused to adapt to NIL and the portal until it was to late... Still fighting it. Now you are trying to fight the huge coaches contracts.

It’s not. You can trust me on that.

Louisiana State is finished.

It’s over.

To be clear, we’ve been laughing for a while now… but this is at least new comedy. So there’s that.

I'm not really even sure exactly how low of a point LSU is at currently. I mean, they won 29 games Kelly's first 3 years, and this year they are probably a couple of plays away from being a 1 loss team and ranked in the top 10. They could very well end up with 8 or 9 wins this season.

Yes, they are currently without a head coach, but the opportunity to get an upgrade over Kelly is totally there, and they won't have to do some kind of big rebuild.

It probably seems dire right now because they just fired their coach, but the fact is is that its kind of a weird situation seeing as how Kelly didn't even come close to nosediving the program, yet he was let go in the middle of the season.

So, I'd say that its not really even a "low point" but a "weird point."

I believe LSU will be fine. I won’t pretend to know how long it will take.

Seriously.

The state which probably has the worst reputation for governance in the conference (and in the running for the country) has basically announced that the governor will be the de facto AD for your new football coach, in a year where the vacancy buffet will be unusually appetizing.

Good f’n luck.

I hoped for the same thing when we fired Gus. What could possibly go wrong?

Dude y'all aren't even at a "low point". Y'all are 5-3 and fired a coach mid season who had a 35-14 record. That's not a low point. You're making a coaching change BEFORE y'all hit a low point. Now what's going to suck is if the next coach does worse than BK. It's easy to make a change when you're having losing seasons because there's only one way to go and that's up. But when you're firing a coach who has a 70.8% winning percentage, that's a gamble, because there is another way to go rather than up and that's down. You dang sure don't want to be the Nebraska/Texas of the modern era and fire a coach that was actually winning only to go on a string of coaches that do worse. I don't think that will happen, but it's possible.

I think a lot of it is perception. LSU as a team and program is still actually just as competitive and fine as ever. But the administrative side is a disaster. Get that straightened out and some good PR (Landry needs to STFU) and things are good. But yeah, from a PR perspective, this is a low point. The management and timing has been abysmal. You can try to spin it positively, but oof. Reality is, it looks bad, especially coming from a program with LSU’s reputation.
