Isn’t Durkin the guy that overworked a player and the player ended up dying? I can’t see Vandy hiring a guy with that kind of mark on his record.

In no world is Lea leaving Vandy for Ole Miss or Vandy replacing him with Durkin ...
If Lea left for say LSU, Vandy would probably bring Franklin back

LSU wins with Sumrall. All of today’s top coaches came straight from G5 or were promoted within their current programs except Kirby and he was a long time DC. Jury is out on deboer still.

I don’t know who it is that just gets us to par, but I don’t believe Lashlee is the answer to our problems. I’d rather stick with Bobby with support to buy better players but nobody listens to me

Well Vandy just has different standards than the rest of the conference. That’s why I say that they would not look at a guy like Durkin.

Why would anyone want the LSU job in the current climate?
I would say this to any coach who has a team moving in the right direction, use the prospect of another job to improve your situation but don't switch while your kids got it going on.
Lea and Kiffin should sit tight.

Sumrall is a good coach...I was a fan of his at Troy...but he's never been a head coach at a Power 4/5 conference. That's a big jump. You don't think LSU can pull someone more proven? Sunbelt Billy potential there. Seems Sumrall needs to prove it at an Arkansas or Kentucky level before getting a Florida/LSU/Penn St level.
If Lane leaves, I think it's Florida.
James Franklin was fired for not winning the big games. He'd be lucky to get a UCLA...no Big 6 SEC school is hiring a guy just run off for not winning.

Gene Chizik and Jimbo also have won A national title. Mike Dubose won a Sec title. He might have won a natty too had he not took a bad loss early to La Tech that year.

Not a one of those hires should strike fear into their rivals. There just isn't a homerun coach available. All the elite coaches are already at elite schools. Gonna be a tough stretch of years for some of these schools.
