Auburn is 100% the type of school for football to be the reason the university exists.
That goes for most SEC schools.
Also, I worked with enrollment at Auburn in 2014. Historically, SEC schools see a huge boost in enrollment and applications when their football team is competitive, which Auburn saw from 2013 to 2014.
That’s why many people have said Saban was worth more than his salary because his program’s success boosted Alabama as a university in way more ways than just football wins.
