This time it didn't cost a team a game but it could have.

There are actually two issues here:
1. It is a foul for an illegal block in the back.
2. The receiving team player being block is considered “passive” since he is not actively engaged with the kicking team player. That block forces him into the ball. Since he is considered “passive”, he is deemed *not* to have touched the ball. Assuming no one else from the receiving team touched the before the kickers, the ball should belong to the receiving team at the spot of the kicking team recovery.

Win and still complaining about refs. Must be really nice being a Bama fan, other than having to have a connection to Alabama that is.

Brutal for Alabama.
But yeah, how on earth that wasn't a block in the back is beyond me. It's just right there... plain as day.

Auburn lost a game because of officials. We very well could have. The clowns couldn't even count but did manage to go back and get it right..barely.

That dude is wrong...
But a TD was taken off the board for SC dude to a really awful holding call. Not sure you want to play the "penalties" game.
You eeked out a win at a bad SC game. Just take the win and move on

A win is a win, especially in this age of college football. Just win and advance, get into the playoffs while trying to remain as healthy as possible. College is basically the NFL now.

Are you seriously so clueless that you don’t recognize a block in the back that obvious?

I umpire Softball. Everybody makes mistakes but you hope it doesn’t impact the game and they rarely do. I do believe ALL conferences protect teams that have a shot at the playoffs which needs to be fixed.

Referees have specific jobs and things they look for to minimize what they are responsible for. That's why that have many of them.
I understand they are humans and mistakes are going to happen. Like in the Auburn/Georgia game the ref just plain out didn't see the PI because he was out of position. It wasn't that he made a bad call, but he completely honestly just missed it.
It's mostly the when the shite isn't caught on replay and what not that gets to me.
And I don't understand why it's not popular for the replay booth to be able to call and point out those things. The above PI for example could have easily been called by the replay booth, but they can't. All I care about is getting the right calls.
Same thing with this play. I'm sure the replay booth reviewed if the Alabama player touched it or not. However, I'm pretty sure even if they saw the penalty, they aren't able to fix it.

If that’s the case they would not have missed the block in back on the punt return that could have cost bama the game bc SC has no shot at playoffs so how would that benefit the officials? There was also a blatant DPI late in the game that would have continued momentum for bama in 4th quarter that was missed

They are getting paid, they should know the freaking rules, I knew the rule and stated as much last night.

Dude, go back to bed, there was some ref trying to steal that game and maybe another ref who saw what he was doing and administered pay back.
You guys got called for 4 to 5 holds and it should have been 15-20. Then an obvious P.I. and 2 or 3 holds on WR after the ball was passed,

Dude blocked him right into the ball. SEC officials are horrible.

How can a guy trying to make a tackle get called for an illegal block? The Sc guy was a tackler and the Bama guy was the blocker....
