A lot of us, including me, owe that man a big apology. We all like to give kiffin the credit and Weiss the blame depending on what the offense does but he has really turned into a good coordinator and from what I understand he is the one who pushed for us to get Chambliss.

He still frustrates me at times but this guy is going to be a head coach at a program next year and we'll be worse off for it. Props to him for taking the opportunity kiffin gave him, taking a lot of blame from fans and putting together some great offensive game plans with kiffin the past few weeks.

Well said and fair assessment. I apologize.

However in the last offensive series today every play called after 2nd and two was hot garbage. That said i hope Charlie can keep it up. We are nowhere near being in the clear. SC should have beat Bama today and state manhandled Texas (who has twice the roster) most of the game. Florida (the last team to beat on the revenge tour) is just going to be a weird game this year.

Nah frick that. I’m not convinced he’s running the offense this year. He has tendencies from his first 3 years here and those don’t just magically go away after one offseason. Kiffin is way more involved this year. I think he was calling plays the first two weeks and Kiffin said “frick this I’m taking over”.

I think since Kiffin has been here it’s his offense and whoever his OC is doesn’t matter that much at all.

Same. Something has changed and it ain’t Weiss. Kudos if he pushed for Chambliss, but that’s only because Weiss’s schemes require players who are absolute playmakers and he can’t succeed without them making him look good. Weiss is still the Tyrone Nix of OC’s in my book.

Come on Henry. You don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Charlie's an elite QB Coach. Between Dart's development and now Chambliss growing up on in the toughest conference in the country on the fly the guys deserves a ton of credit. It was Trinidad that got tight in the 4th and missed open targets these last two games. I don't have an issue with it though. He takes care of the football and that's what matters at the end of the day.

I have to eat some crow with Pete Golding myself. Rewatched the Georgia game and already rewatched the game yesterday. We were in the correct defense multiple times and between safeties and nickels blowing coverage or a DE missing a tackle or a LB making the wrong run fit the mistakes were easy to see. I hate to say it but moving forward if it's a HUGE 3rd or 4th down play we just need to call Timeout and line up our LBs and secondary like school children and make them repeat aloud what coverage they'll be playing and who their man is/what zone they're filling. We won't have any at the end of the half but should help us give up fewer explosive plays. It almost cost us on the final drive when our Corner gave their WR a free release at the LOS but Mateer over threw him.

Here’s the thing football fans hate acknowledging: they’ll say shite like “I can’t believe he called XYZ that one series” when it doesn’t work out, but don’t think twice when he uses the same play/thought process a dozen other times and it worked out flawlessly. That first down is quickly forgotten and the bust forever seared in their brain. Remember, there’s a reason people who’ve forgotten more about football than we’ve ever known are paying him $1.65mm a year to call plays and he’s a top prospect for a HC position.

That’s as much directed at myself than anyone else; you can easily find me dog-cussing him and calling him an incompetent dumbass plenty of times here.

We still have a issue of him calling runs up the middle when nothing is their though.

Lane reads the Rebel Rant. I was screaming that the slot was uncovered on that 3rd down. Thankfully the official gave us the TO after the snap

He called that play like 10 times in a row in the second half for no gain. Then Lacy broke one up the middle for a 50 yard score that iced the game.

It's hard to second guess

Lane was involved in the first and second down runs for no gain during the second half. It finally broke open for a big play but man was it frustrating. Let Trinidad throw on first down and not just third and long.
