Why did High keep banging his head against the wall running the jet,
When the grass was wet?

To Hew’s credit he stopped it after the second time Singleton slipped.

This may come across as ignorant but many here were talking about Nike cleats not working.

Dont football players actually have the option of just sticking longer spikes on their cleats?

I think he was trying to pull Singletons hamstring so when he lost he could blame it on not having him or Coleman 100%

That is one of the six plays he runs for any given game. Duh!

My assumption was that he was trying to employ a strategy to tire the Hogs D, but weather was interfering with execution.

At half, Auburn had been rotating players …. 36 players versus 20 for Arkansas. It’s no surprise that we had an advantage in 4th quarter.

We had an advantage solely based on arKansas gifting us the ball repeatedly.

It seems like we're averaging around 3 yards on the jet sweeps. I remember one or two going for around 10 yards but most seem like we don't get anything. Idk if we aren't blocking it right or Singleton isn't comfortable running them but i wish we wouldn't run as many

Yes. Arky was wearing Nike cleats too. They seemed fine. We either didn’t use long enough cleats or possibly had too much tape on his.

Actually he didn’t. He went back to that well on 4th and goal at the 4 yard line to the short side of the field.

And it would have been stopped except for the fact that the OL had a dead-ball false start penalty pushing Auburn back to the 9 yard line forcing Bro Hew to kick the FG.

Part of Hugh”s RPO: Run for your life, Penalty, Overthrow.

I may change the R to Read the defense wrong

Maybe by forcing the defense to spread out in anticipation of the outside plays.......thats why we ran it up the gut repeatedly for good runs.

But some will find fault with anything at this point

The field was too wet for the play.

Maybe try to target Singleton more down the field in that setting.

On a dry field, singleton can stop on a dime and make people miss.

On a wet field, adjustments need to be made.

This is exactly why you run or motion the jet sweep. Move the OLB out of the C gap. LB stands still you hand it to the WR LB starts leaning outside you hand to the running back
