Through eight weeks, college football’s TV ratings continue to rise. Seven games from Week 8 were among Nielsen’s 10 most-watched live sports telecasts of the week – a list that also included NFL and MLB playoff games.

Now, Nielsen has revealed the 10 most-watched college football teams of the season. The SEC led the charge through Week 8, fueled by massive ratings success from ABC out of the gate. The network has eight of the 10 most-watched games of the season so far.

Crazy that Oklahoma has over 6 million viewers and only 4 million people in the State.

It's a double edged sword. On one hand, it helps the brand and with recruiting. On the other hand, it means we play a lot of 2:30 games.

UT coming in 2nd is pretty impressive as their schedule hasn’t included a ton of ranked teams.

2:30 isn’t the #1 slot anymore since leaving CBS

I was gonna say I was shocked by LSU’s considering they’re not very good and really haven’t played a big game (at the time of the game) since Clemson.

Could have fooled me. We've only had two matchups (other than the ULM game) start later than 2:30 this year.

Oklahoma is the only surprising team in there.

Did they steal viewers like that they stole land? Is that Oklahoma reporting those numbers?
