Well that's quite literally the opposite of who the fans were calling for yesterday.

Yep. He wasn’t mentioned in any capacity as a possible replacement nor interim.

Danny White has the ego of Phillip Fulmer

Tennessee has a rich history of baseball with tons of lifelong baseball fans so I’m sure their fan takes will be reasonable

It’s not a horrible strategy IF
Elander isn’t quite ready
Anderson probably retires in the next 4-5 years.. and Elander could be groomed until he does.. He is only 34.
Elander could function as the HC during this time without the spotlight as well. Gradually give him more responsibility..

That assumes Elander is willing to stick around until Frank decides to leave. That doesn't always work out. It sure didn't with our "coach in waiting" tag on Muschamp.
Elander is going to get some calls. We'll see how bad he wants to stay in Tennessee.

White, in his PC, did say that Elander would be considered for the full time HC position as the search goes on. White, according to many Vol-related podcasts, is getting a ton of heat over this appointment.

Wow, this will be interesting to watch.

And when he does that I'm sure Frank Anderson will not be pissed off and tell Tennessee to Get fricked.

I don't see why Anderson is such a terrible choice, though admittedly I don't know anything about the dynamics between him and the players.

Elander wasn’t made interim because he is a candidate for the actual job and they want him to prepare for it. Anderson has already said he doesn’t want to be a head coach again so he isn’t interviewing. He has just been put there until the search is over.

"Let's milk the fans for every Dollar" Danny is a fan of interviews, apparently. He wants to sit down and be woo'd and have his arse kissed.
He's a great AD. He does a great job raising money and working as a CEO type ensuring some semblance of success across all programs. But he's dropped the ball bigly on this so far. He looked like stuttering sam during the press conference yesterday.
There's going to be a book written about his tenure when it's all said and done, and it won't be pretty. And I imagine TV will provide a lot of on the record color analysis for that chapter.
