Do you Arkansas fans think Petrino may get the permanent job ?

I see the reasoning behind rehiring BP and investing more in NIL. Petrino can still put up points and with no defense he’s putting up numbers on potential playoff teams.

I'm worried we're dumb enough to hire Gus instead.

He obviously wants it, and he still has a great offensive mind. Set him up with a good DC and get some dudes in there and they’d be pretty good pretty quick. What do the Arky fans feel about him?

I hope not
I don’t want to face his offense again

No one else would even want that job. The only schools that would hire a scum bag like Perrin are Sow U or Auburn

It would be nice if we had a coaching changes board.

If I'm Arkansas, yes.
Give him a cheap deal and you have nothing to lose really. He's already there and knows the team.
Who can they get right now that's definitely better?

Yep, get him at the minimum and put the money into staff and players.

Like it or not for some of our more “pious” fans, Petrino is probably our best option with the coaching carousel that is going to happen this season. He’s proving that when he isn’t handcuffed and our players execute that he’s still a lethal offensive mind, we won’t get someone of his caliber with as much HC experience, and a lot of people forget, but most of the defensive players that “Bielema put in the NFL” were Petrino recruits. If he has a good DC and NIL budget and can build depth, there’s probably not anyone better that we could do by based on gauging the current external interest in our vacancy.

And he’d probably accept something in the 4 mil range for 3 years with incentives and the opportunity for extension and raises

Oh Yeah ... He'll get a gig.
And then burn that school down like he's literally done everywhere else he's ever been.
Just like Urban Meyer. You want Urban Meyer - school XYZ ? Well, you'll win some games for about five years because he burns himself up. Because that's just what he does.
So yeah - somebody will hire Bobby. And he'll win some games and then they'll hate him when they run him out of town. Because that's what he does. He's only done it everywhere he's ever been.
I'm convinced at this point ADs are like Coaches are like Women. They all look at a problem and tell themselves "but I'll fix him".

If I were an Arkansas fan I think I would like to give it a shot. He was a good coach, imo, the first go round.

Based on our candidate list that was released by our dumbass AD. He’s easily the best option.

I mean, he’d be cheaper by default from the onset for sure. Even if he wanted 6, despite what some Hog fans whine about, we have the money. But I don’t think he’s in it for the money this round. He’s competitive as hell and has shite to prove after everything that happened.

I tend to agree with this. He is the biggest prick in recent coaching history, but the egotistical ignorant shite he pulled is the type that is generally tempered with age. Hell, even when he fricked you guys over first time around, it was his dick doing the fricking (literally) and not his coaching ego.
His age is the only drawback to a long term deal. He is basically Brian Kelly who still seems to be enough of a competitive prick to have buy in and actually coach to his strengths which is a high scoring offense.

One counterpoint I’d make is that his clock is ticking, he has to realize this is probably his last realistic shot of building a program. Expect he’ll have a different mindset and actually give 8-10 good years, whether or not that means a title we’ll see but I think he’ll do respectably for about a decade.

If no Lane, I’ll take him

Sure. Because the list of egomaniac people in any line of work that suddenly "see the light" is so long.
Yeah. Bobby will suddenly start helping old ladies across the street and not try to bone then on the curb. Sure.

I think he should , with an emphasizes on shoring up
their defense. That would be a mean combination.
