A lot of you refuse to give Joey freaking Football his flowers.

That's fine, because he will have a fair shot to prove himself head to head against Simpson on Saturday.

However, both have gone up against the same defense in UGA. Let's compare how each QB did:

Simpson: 276 yards passing 2 TDS 0 ints and 1 TD rushing

Aguilar: 371 yards passing with 4 TDs 2 ints and 1 TD rushing

Against the same defense, Joey Aguilar posted almost 100 more yards passing and threw for twice as many touchdowns.

I want to know why exactly is the rant and the national media just ASSUMING that Simpson is the better QB?

Also, he did get blown out by FSU. Joey hasn't been blown out by anyone at Tennessee so far and would be undefeated if not for his FG kicker.

You have a really good squad including the best overall and most underrated QB in the conference based on everything I've seen. He holds the longest streak of 200 yard plus passing games of any QB in the NCAA i saw last night. Have to admit, no one saw this guy coming.

The grind doesn't stop though for anyone.

Wade and Starkville are going to be rocking. Hope you all like the sound of cowbells over and over.

This our chance to put the nation on alert. We welcome you Vols but your players ears are going to be ringing by Saturday night.

Alabama outperformed UTk against their only common opponent in the stat that matters most, even with the games against said common opponent had one with home field advantage and the other a road game.

Did Ty start out 14 for 14 against UGA? Advantage Joey Aguilar.

In all honesty, I think both are around the same caliber. It just annoys to see Simpson leading the Heisman race with JA nowhere in sight, when Joey's numbers are practically identical. 4 of his ints weren't even his fault, catchable balls. Too bad most people in the media don't actually watch the games. Joey has balled out hard.

The Bama bias is real. This is why Saturday is a must win game for Tennessee. Not just for our playoff run but also so people will start putting some real respect behind Joey's name.

They play this weekend so I'm unsure why you feel the need to convince everyone.

So people can think about this thread and the comparison of overall body of work when it's all going down.

I imagine the difference might be that Ty is doing it with Bama's SOS at #2, while Tennessee's SOS is currently at #47.

But your arguments are dumb and only highlight your general lack of understanding the game.

Aguilar had a strong game against Georgia...and his numbers were better...but it was the two tipped passes that should have been caught that ended up being interceptions that ultimately was the difference. Take away those turnovers and Tennessee wins in regulation instead of losing in OT.

Regardless, Simpson threw 2 TDs and ran another while not having any INTs. He was good enough for them to win.

Certainly this, and Ty leads the SEC in passer rating (10 points higher than #4 Aguilar and a 70%+ completion % to Aguilar's 64%)

Take away the 2 receiver tips that turned into INTs, and Aguilar would have had a higher QBR. But it is what it is.

He’s the definition of a system QB. It would be like giving the Heisman to a Mike Leach QB. Heupel’s QBs don’t do shite in the league.

My arguments are sound and the numbers back them up. The only advantage Simpson has number wise, is the int category.

Like I said, Joey Aguilar and Tennessee would NEVER get blown out by FSU.

pretty big category considered that was arguably the difference in both games. one TO from simpson prolly pushes UGA over the top...One less from Joey might have pushed the vols to victory...its more important than a random 20-30 yards
