It’s been a minute, why did Kiffin leave Tennessee and not want to be their coach?

Because he wanted to coach at USC and the Trojans doubled his salary.

So I wonder what opening would qualify as his dream job now?

Florida seems interesting

USC was his dream job. He was a west coast guy with his life at USC.

The issue was never that he left it was the way he did it. Telling recruits to not sign, didn’t tell the team, had Ogre contact recruits with UT provided phones telling them to not come to UT, snuck out in the middle of the night vibe.

For Lane, toothlessness had its advantages, but it got old.

Sure Kiffin leaving sucked and I don’t blame Kiffin, the Tennessee AD is who screwed that up with a ridiculously low one million dollar buyout and a horrendous coaching search. When you pass on viable candidates for Derek Dooley who had a pretty mediocre head coaching record and very little experience made the Kiffin fiasco even worse

He has been literally sucking cock for 5 years now to get out of Oxford. He hates it that much

He'd already run through all the 8's, 9's Knoxville's co-ed Tender had to offer. There are no 10's. USCw Tender was a opportunity he couldn't pass up.

University of Southern California was Lane Kiffin’s dream job. But it end up being a nightmare for him. So Lane became offensive coordinator at Alabama for Nick Saban. Then Ole Miss hired him as head coach.

USC was his dream job, and USC hired him because he had a pretty good/decent plan to deal with the sanctions and reduced scholarships.

The bigger insight is what he did as he was leaving. Which was take anything he could that wasn't absolutely nailed down.

He and his wife at the time wanted to GTFO of Knoxville, plus the pay was also enticing.
