OK, might sound out there but PSU has 100 million to burn. Franklin get $50 to leave. Drinks buyout is nothing. Why he would be on their list...

1. Lack of big-name candidates available.
2. Has recruited the area and the SEC footprint
3. Stable, low key, Christian. Not gonna embarrass the program.
4. Stacks wins, even if OSU will be an issue.
5. Great program leader, knows how to get people to open their wallets. Embraces NIL and the portal.
6. Brings Zollers home
7. Swag of grabbing a SEC coach

This could be an issue. Especially for reason #1& #3.

Drink likes Mizzou and has a good thing going. He's the 10th highest paid coach in the country and doesn't have National Championship or bust expectations. He has literally built a program and half of a stadium. I feel good about Drink staying at Mizzou no matter what job opens up.

PSU stacks 90k for a white out game.

Recruiting/Portal would be much easier with the PSU brand.

They will give him 10 million plus.

They are already building a new training facility.

Im a Mizzou alumni, donor and fan. But to say a man who drives a Maybach wouldn't be interested in PSU over Mizzou to me is a stretch.

Seriously, old man PSU football and zone running Drink. Tell you what, name me 2 guys who fit them better? Character, wins, style of football they traditionally play.

Hope he stays, but I don't think Mizzou could do more than they already have for improving the program and keeping him happy.

If he's got to find what he's looking for away from CoMo, then there's nothing that can be done. Either way, no point in worrying about it.

It's the first time in wished Drink was an obnoxious person away from the field. Damn him for being a high character guy. I did think of other possibilities...

Rhett Lashlee, SMU wins and he got those Dallas donors to open their wallets, and seems like a cool guy.

Kyle Whittingham, wins, ultra high character guy, plays PSU type of football.

Clark Lea, perfect fit, he knows his QB is leaving, high character, stealing from the SEC again.

Unpopular opinion, I hope he takes it. It’s clear we’ll never get to the next level with him.

It is very unpopular because it is very clear he has us ready to take the next step. A new coach isn't going to do any better.

Ooooooh, gonna really disagree with you there. Drink is perfect for Mizzou. Are there tough decisions to be made, yes. Is Moore the OC, does Batoon need a new coach for safeties, should he had been more aggressive in the portal for a QB? But as our leader, Im not sure we could have gotten a better fit.

Problem is PSU is a bigger brand, and they would love his characteristics as their coach. They're not the type of program that wants a Kiffin or even Urban Meyer chasing skirts. They will want a nice guy who knows his shite.

Franklin 34-8 in 3 seasons prior to this year. PSU paying $50MM to fire him. His record isn’t great in top 15 games but still won a lot of games. Any coach signing up for that better get one hell of a pay day.

PSU has been a little slow on NIL, maybe Dabo is a perfect fit. Im looking at the list of coaches, what a crappy time to be trying to find your coach. I don't remember a time when the cupboard was this bare.

Short list of up and coming coaches. Established coaches seem more content to stay put. I just don’t see PSU doing this unless they have someone lined up or willing to move PSU to #1 on coaches salary list. Fingers crossed MIZ isn’t involved as all the dominoes fall filling vacancies.

I am thinking there must be 100 or more great coaches out there at levels lower than P4. Maybe even high school. How could they be found and given a chance I wonder. It doesn't seem to happen.

I have a hard time seeing PSU go from Franklin who couldn’t win big games to drink, who can’t win big games.

The Regents have to be convinced. Drink wasn't even on our radar. Sterk wanted Anderson from Arkansas St. or Monken from Army. Thank God Sunvold said burn that list and try again.

So an AD has to sell his choice to the Regents. It's hard to sell your multi million dollar football program on a HS coach are a unproven coach. Weird stat, only about 30% make it 6 years.

Go back to my original post and read #1. I just saw a potential list, it had Matt Rhule on it, he hasn't even made a bowl game yet.

Rhule is close friends with Kraft the AD, and an alum. There are exceptions

I don't care if they are shameless twins. They just fired Franklin after losing to Northwestern, you can't consider a guy who has lost to Northwestern twice in 2 years.

Then there's Matt Campbell who should have left Iowa State 3 years ago, now hi program is average.

The there's Dan Mullen, who hated recruiting in the state of Florida WTF???

If money wasn't an issue, who would you hire, Drink or one of these guys?

SEC > b10 all day long.

Would you rather take your team to MI or IA in the winter or FLA, etc.
