Rooting for the dawgs over Auburn today

I don’t want a zombie Georgia out for revenge and vengeance next week if they lose this week and their season is on the line against us at home

I'm rooting for Auburn, to be honest. Any loss to any winning team is good for us if we just keep winning.

Early prediction..

I don’t like to do it but I’ve had a decent read on the team all season

Dawgs 24
Rebs 17

I think their D squeezes us out if Chambliss can’t throw any better than he did today.

Yep - we will really miss having an elite arm talent under center this weekend.

After last night, we are going to have to beat Kirby and the refs. Kiffin might fight him if he pulls the fake timeout stunt again.

Not sure. SEC needed UGA to beat Auburn to keep UGA in the race as Auburn is already eliminated. For one of the very few times, we are in the same place as UGA this season and the SEC should be fine with whichever team wins.

I think Simmons ends up starting against Georgia with packages designed specifically for Chambliss.

I think the leash will be much shorter for Chambliss against Georgia

Simmons is lurking on the sidelines looking ready to roll

Yep. Dude was on and off the bike all afternoon. Throwing during every timeout. I was hoping Lane would let him play.

Simmons has a 60% completion percentage with four int's this year. Not sure he is the golden armed savior people seem to think he is.

After the first half of the auburn game, I was convinced Chambliss gives us the best chance against UGA. After the second half, I’m back to Simmons. But whichever QB starts will probably finish. Has Kiffin ever pulled a QB for non injury/non blowout reasons?

I think we got the stinker out of the way. I hope we got that out of our system.

My thoughts (while drinking the kool-aid):

- We really have been prepping for UGA and that's why we played so terribly against Wazzu
- Early morning games are our kyptonite
- Crowd was flat (amazing for a 6-0 team at home). We have some growing up to do as a fanbase

So hopefully all of this leads to a much better performance against Georgia. They don't look like the classic Georgia of the past few years.

Ole Miss a touchdown dog in Athens and dropped in the polls (ESPN knocked us all the way down to 12 LOL). Should be good motivation. Rebs by 3.

The key to this game is which Defense shows up. Our D is young and is really inconsistent. We need to stop the Bulldogs rushing attack and make Stockton throw the ball. However, if the Hogs 1st Half/Wash St D comes to play in Athens we get boat raced. They will win the TOP and our offense will be struggling to score enough pts. Oh and TC needs to stop reading his hype and actually get the ball into the right zip code so our stable of studs WRs can show out.

Not to be argumentative but I think the offense is the key like it was last year in our losses to Florida and Kentucky. If we can't score more than 24 we won't win. Usually if we score 30 we win(I'm sure TA has the exact stats). Our defense played fine against Wazzu outside of a couple of big plays. The penalties are killing us extending drives and killing our momentum offensively.

I think the key is penalties. They nearly cost us the last two games when we should have won by multiple scores.

Can't do that against Georgia. Can't kill promising drives with holding calls or gift them first downs on what should have been a stop.

Under Lane Kiffin:
- We are 4-11 if we score 24 or less (2-0 in 2025)
- We are 46-7 if we score 25+
- We are 35-3 if we score 30+
- We have won the last 32 games we have scored 30+ in

This team has stones, man. 4-0 in 1-score games. It’s going to be a monumental challenge, but they’ll get our best. I have no doubt. My one and only real concern is we haven't seen Chambliss on the road.

I’m on Team Chambliss here. He put up decent numbers against Wazzu. You cannot just forget that LSU performance and the throws he was making against an elite secondary. I say go with Chambliss and if he looks really bad make a change by the 2nd quarter or half time.

Honestly it’s the defense who far more concerns me against UGA. I didn’t see a lot from the game last weekend, but aside from Echoles, I was seeing some soft defensive line push. In order to best UGA that level of pressure from last year will be required. Unleash Perkins to the extent you can / have him spy Stockton. UGA’s weakness is their pass game right? So make them pass / take the risk by being aggressive with blitz packages.

I expect a handful of BS pass interference calls in response to moaning UGA fans on what will be any deep ball. Holding calls. If not I’ll take it as a pleasant surprise but 100% expect us to get hit hard with a few penalties we will be scratching our heads at / UGA not getting called. Don’t do the shite where we run 3 read options in a row and get stuffed. Have faith in the QB-WR-Wright chemistry with Lacy available for check downs.

Haven’t thought about a score prediction just yet..
