Not sure what our strategy should be beyond keep doing what we have been doing very well at.

That said, I think there are opportunities that Bama may not see a bunch of on film.

More Norfleet, more Olugbode, some passes to the RBs.

A few more opportunistic blitzes??

I have no idea how to protect against our secondary. Sighhhhhhhh

I think you mentioned it. Pressure on Simpson is the secondary's best friend on Saturday.

Our secondary is experienced, and you could see them communicating during the UMass game. Haven't seen that since Baker left. He was big on communicating back and forth in the secondary. Don't know why every coach doesn't make it a priority honestly, seems so simple.

Run the ball until Wommack adjusts and hit the seams with Norfleet and Coleman. With Green being doubtful, I think we see a lot of 12 personnel

That's it. I want to run Hardy and Roberts until I see someone stop it.

And so long as our DBs don't put us in a 10 point hole I see no reason we can't play that game.

Nuke ... What are your thoughts on the OL overall and LT's playing in place of Green? A liability who needs protection?

Richardson was solid vs SC. He handled both edge defenders when he was matched up. Moore gave him a lot help by attaching Harris to him. I think we will see a lot of two TE looks this week too.

The hole card in this is Batoon. He knows Wommack's alignments, run fits, blitz tendencies, and pre and post snap coverages for every look an offense can provide. They have had two weeks to dissect Bama's current tape on top of any inside info Batoon could provide. The offense should be prepared.

In the Vandy game Alabama made great adjustments on offense and defense. We can’t rely on one aspect of the game like Vandy did with Pavia. Would like to see some play action, 3 step drops, and quick passes to the RB’s. Don’t allow Bama’s LB’s to fill the lanes we need to keep them off balance.

After they prove they can stop our run. No need to pull out a pocket knife when you have a sword in hand.

Gabe gives us some numbers. Points out others have run on Bama this season.

Simple: Let them load the box because they are preparing for Hardy then throw it to #3.

Or 2 or 0 or 1 or 87.

Pribula will have plenty of options at his disposal. We just need him to avoid any turnovers. Can't afford that this week.

I watched some prediction videos and this is what many predictors point to as well.

Alabama has a tremendous receiver room and a Heisman hopeful QB to throw the ball to them. If he has time to throw Ty Simpson has shown he can find his open receivers.

I guess it will come down to how many stops we can get on the Alabama offense. We should be able to score some points but will it be enough.

If there has been one thing that I think Eli has done extremely well is slowing the game down. We have the offensive personal to keep the Bama offense on the sidelines for 4 minutes at a time.

Even with all the easy teams we have played Missouri is tied for last in Red Zone defense. Last year we ranked around 65th. If we are going to win we need to hold them to FG’s in the Red Zone. Alabama is ranked 18th in Red Zone offense scoring 95% of the time, but they average 3.7 points per Red Zone possession. They can be held to FG’s and that should be our goal

Our Red Zone defense is bad and it can’t be blamed on 1 part of the defense it’s the entire defense that is making mistakes.

Don’t get beat deep, blitz, and get Simpson out of the pocket. Simpson is ranked 6th in passing completion from the pocket.

The surest way to lose this game is to abandon the running game either by getting cute or falling 14 points behind. So they need to try to shorten the game to limit Alabama possessions and the exposure of our secondary. To this end, I hope to see play clocks whittled down to under 5 seconds with time consuming drives. And as NavyNuke mentioned in another thread, that may involve Pribula making more plays with his legs than previously.

Has anyone seen how Simpson performs under duress? They'll have to try to make them one dimensional and generate pressures and sacks for sure and hope to create some turnovers. I would also think blitzing would have to be minimal and strategic.

IMO the key stats will be time of possession and not turning the ball over.

I worked with him at ESPN Radio back in 2005 when I was in college. He said some wacky stuff... All of which, came true.
