Man time absolutely flies. Still remember watching the game at the hospital in the waiting room.

"Mighty Mouse" will forever be my favorite Bama player.

Bryant Denny was rocking that day.

I was at this game and I still believe it was the loudest game in BDS.

Bama’s first play was pure pandemonium. My Oakley’s flew off my face in the madness and I didn’t even care. And it gave us an all time Verne line.

It was so loud that day in Bryant Denny, electric atmosphere.
Offense was on fire with Brodie, Prothro, DJ, and Brown.
When up big 4th quarter, I did say let's get some star players out before a possible injury and of course it happened.

I had left the game in the 4th quarter & was at The Houndstooth when it happened. Huge things could've happened that season. Pro may have been up for the Heisman & went on to a stellar pro career. Last time I saw him in Ttown he still had a noticeable limp.

I remember thinking that day leaving the stadium it being a bitter sweet day. Losing our best offensive player for the season, yet, embarrassing Urban and the Gators on National TV.
It was a high point day for Shula as our coach, yet a low point as well, having Pro still in the game, game well in hand.
I'd see Pro around 3 years later at Gallettes after a game and he sadly had a hitch in his walk, but he was walking.

Loudest game I’ve been to still to this day
Was with my dad, Prothro injury happened right in front of us, we were probably 30 rows in that end zone.
Went from the loudest game to the most quiet I’ve ever heard BDS

I agree it was probably the loudest game at BDS. I think the loudest moment was Mt Cody block of the UT field goal.
If memory serves me correct Tebow was at that game as a Bama recruit. I remember seeing a bunch of signs for him in the student section that day.

That was a fun season to be a freshman. Good times.

Talk about potential butterfly effect. I think there’s a decent chance we run the table if he never gets hurt. That defense was the best in the country.
That would have been two years in a row that 3 power teams finished undefeated, with the SEC on the outside looking in for both as Texas and USC played for the natty that year.
Maybe running the table buys Shula a longer leash, and Saban ends up back in Baton Rouge
