Think Ty had some hostile environment game jitters that if we play a much weaker team he's able to get those out of the way. Say Wisky and fsu were switched would Bama be undefeated?

Would Bama beat fsu in a rematch?

No because Womack still calling the defense. He never did ANYTHING different all game and just watch them just run over and over.

Which is why this next game is truly frightening, despite the fact that we’ve had it circled since last year.

No because defense couldn't get a stop.

Every game is going to be a battle when you can't get stops

I mean not to defend Wommack but FSU punted three times in the second half (and we also stopped them on their first drive until they got a bs defensive holding call that bailed them out).

I think having to play a team that was completely constructed from the portal, with different coordinators from the previous year, on the road, with it being your QBs first ever start, with the opposing team having been abysmal the previous year, and it also being a scheme that you are not great at stopping in general just kinda added up to it being a major trap. The players thought they were going to just automatically win and that FSU was going to be trash. I think Simpson needed a couple games to get comfortable and we would have come out fast and demoralized then instead of getting them all fired up at home. There really is no benefit to playing a P4 opened for the opener, I hope we start scheduling smarter.

I do think Wommack shite the bed though, he literally played for Malzahn, he should have had a better plan, but the scheme he runs is just not optimized for that. It's more of a bend don't break and try to get turnovers to compliment a high powered offense. Against the Malzahn thing you gotta have hard-nosed front 7 play and more discipline that we have shown. Also our front 7 has been a MASH unit

While true remember Nutt still had his finger prints all over that offense and that's why Malzhan was one and done as the OC.

Malzahn and more importantly Norvell really needed that win. I think Bama walked into their superbowl without realizing it. We've gone over ad nauseam who and what is to blame for it.

Now, do I think it would have gone better with a tuneup game or two? For sure. They still would have attacked our main weakness and it would have likely ended poorly, but there's no replacing reps for getting a team ready for competition.

I got a better one

What if we had started Ty in the Iron Bowl and against Michigan?

I think getting beat like that by FSU was a wake up call. Zero change Hubbard is playing as well as he has the last few days if he wasn't called out and embarrassed by how he played against FSU.

That FSU loss might’ve been the best thing that happened from a psychological standpoint.

Three of the next four (Vandy, Mizzou, USC) rely heavily on a mobile QB and the next mobile QB we slow down under Womack will be the first. Something has to change starting this week.
