Your rankings are fair except A&M at 3, i think there's a little bias from u being an auburn fan

How so?
A&M has a common opponent with Miami in Notre Dame… beating the Irish in South Bend is a bit more impressive than beating them at home by a last second field goal.
They also have a common opponent with Oklahoma in Auburn…. Very similar scores, but Texas A&M was much more dominant against Auburn compared to OU.
As for Ole Miss, the win over LSU at home is probably comparable to A&M’s win over Notre Dame on the road… A&M’s next best win… at home over Auburn is far more impressive than OM’s next best win which was a close one over Arkansas at home….. especially considering the way Notre Dame manhandled Arky in that same stadium.
There’s really no explanation NOT to have the Aggies in the Top 3 at this time.

You can rank A&M over Texas Tech all you want, but in a head-to-head, Tech would spank.

Tech's defense looks good, but I still have to discount the Red Raiders until they play a good team. Their best win was against an imploding Utah.
Tech vs. A&M in the playoffs would sell some tickets.

I'd put Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, & Texas above Texas A&M even though A&M could beat most of those teams, but I'd expect it happen less than 40% of the time in a 10 game simulation.
Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas Tech & Miami would fall more into a 50/50 type game imo.

Tejas won't make the playoffs

In time, that might be how it shakes out. But Texas is yet to win a Power 4 game and they have a loss… you can’t just pretend that Bama didn’t lose by two touchdowns at a team that just lost to UVA… and Georgia just lost to Bama at home.
It is completely irresponsible to have any of those teams ahead of A&M at this time. There is a reason we play the games.

Hard to know how for real Tech is, they haven't played anyone of significance yet.

Both statements can be true.

While I agree, we did lose to the #1 team at their place, and we did hold A&M to 0 offensive points last year at Kyle Field. They are better this year, but the game is in Austin. Could they beat us? Yes, but I like our chances.
If we had played a lessor team than Ohio State, perhaps Michigan like we did last year, we'd be Top 3 right now. Do we have issues? Yes, but our defense is being overlooked in a big way right now.

Well then it's a good thing I don't have any AP voting rights.
Your point though is probably the reason that Texas shouldn't play Ohio State anymore. People view that loss similarly to any other loss. The fact that you rated Indiana higher than Texas because of that loss is a perfect example. Do we have any P4 wins yet? Nope. But we also haven't played any P4 teams besides #1. We'll know a lot more about Texas in the next 2 weeks though.

WTF does last year have to do with anything?

Not if you looked the same way you did against SJST, Sam Houston, etc. Hell I’m not sure Texas would have beaten Michigan this year.
Either way, there is plenty of opportunity for Texas to move up. These rankings should be fluid as teams play week to week. As it stands NOW, A&M deserves to be Top 3, and there is no way to really dispute that unless you use hype and preseason expectations for your rationale.

This is flawed thinking. Beat someone… ANYONE with a pulse and Texas will move up. We are judging you for your CURRENT resume and literally the only reason Texas deserves to be in the Top 25 is because you played Ohio State closely.

Best wins in your own rankings has OSU beating #8 and Oregon beating #10 so why would resume Oregon have a better one. OSU also just snapped the nations 2nd longest home winning streak
Is a double OT win on the road better than a regulation win at home where OSU was up 14-0 with 3 minutes left and went to a softer defensive scheme?

OSU won their big game at home. Oregon won their big game in arguably the most difficult environment in CFB this season. That’s the difference.

I could really care less what you think, and I'm guessing the same is true in reverse. I simply shared my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. If you think A&M should be Top 3, then so be it.

A lot of things are being overlooked with Texas right now.
And I’ll take all of it. The silly pre-season talk by the media has ended. The season starts this weekend for Texas.
