After yesterday, I don’t see how any SEC team can sniff a less than 2 TD loss against Ohio state or Oregon. Maybe Texas if Arch Manning just suddenly becomes an average quarterback that can complete basic wheel routes. Never say never, but yall are going to need some serious luck and prayers to sniff the national championship.

Shut up, nerd. SEC will be just fine after we finish beating the crap out of one another.

The SEC Champion is the the National Champion. The playoff is just the new spring league. To give the northern retards a reason to buy a new hoody.

Ohio State and Oregon are the two best teams from the two conferences so far but the SEC has more really good teams than the B10 by far:

Tier 1:
OSU
Oregon

Tier 2:
Bama
Texas
UGA
OM
A&M
Penn State

Tier 3:
LSU
TN
OU
MIZ
VU
UM
IU

Texas
Meh. Most likely SEC contenders are Georgia, Bama and Ole Miss. They would have to put something together but they have the talent/veteran coaching to make it possible. But right now I agree it’s Ohio St, Miami, Oregon. There’s no SEC juggernaut

So if Notre Dame, Miami or Penn State went up against Bama or UGA tomorrow, you would confidently pick them to win?

Miami isn’t in the B10, but no I’m not sold on them scaling against good defenses. A bad UF team easily could’ve beaten them on the road.

I think Penn State is in a similar tier as Bama and UGA, but I would have both SEC teams as narrow favorites over PSU on a neutral field.

I would have all three of those teams favored over ND.

FEI coming into this weekend:
1) OSU
2) Oregon
3) UGA
4) Bama
5) OM
6) PSU
7) Texas
8) ND
9) IU
10) TN
11) Miami
12) OU
13) USC
14) UM
15) A&M

I don’t think that’s a horrible sense of where teams are but suspect IU and ND are a bit over valued and OU will pick up some losses with Mateer out because he was their entire offense.

I also claim no idea what Texas is this year because their offense is a giant red flag to me so far, but on paper they should be great.

The other anomaly is LSU. If they had 80% of the passing game I thought they would coming into the season they would be my pick to win it all. As it stands they might only win 8-9 games. Something is wrong and it’s not all Nussmeier.

Per AI:

quote:

While some observers believe the SEC's dominance in college football is declining, with a championship drought and increased competitiveness from other conferences, others argue the league is still the top tier due to continued recruiting success and talent acquisition. The expansion with Texas and Oklahoma, a change in the TV rights deal, and the impact of the transfer portal and NIL are all factors contributing to the debate about the SEC's status, with its position still considered strong by many analysts.

I’m not so sure about that. The size difference between players in the Oregon and PSU game compared to the Bama and UGA matchup was pretty noticeable. SEC linemen would dominate Oregon’s front. Lanning’s squad feels like Lincoln Riley’s team on steroid. Honestly, I think the only real contenders outside the SEC are Oregon and maybe Ohio State if they can get their act together.

Oregon is a complete team. So is tOSU. The rest of the B1G is trash. SEC is a step below but that is due to lack of elite teams
