Down 3 and instead of tying went for it. There was zero reason to go for it. If you tie the game then at worst if Bama scores TD you can still come back and tie. As it was Bama never scored.
There are times to go for it but big games usually are close and you must take any points you can. You can’t win it with a whole QTR left but you can lose it.
Bama is in GA HC head. He let emotions decide vs common sense. Tie it up and you have practically whole qtr to win it. And then if you hold Bama another FG wins not ties.
Kirby 1-7 vs Bama.

This 100%.
Mike Bobo running two of our most important 3rd down conversions with Cash Jones was ignoramus level of retardation.
FIRE MIKE BOBO

The 3rd down pass play to Jam that led to the victory formation was a thing of beauty.
The tight end was open for 6, too.

I said it at the time. Horrible decision to go for it on 4th down there. Even worse to rush it like they did.
You are at home. You take the points and tie the game. Typical Kirby against Bama.
He only knows how to shite the bed vs them except one time.

It was an obvious call and the same basic call Ole Miss ran to seal the game against LSU on their 4th down play.
DC's have to be the stupidest people on Earth not to see that coming. You know it is coming and still don't set the defense up to defend it.
You know they are just going to go for the first down, so why are you playing so far off the players. Will never understand that. Ever,.

One was on 4th down.
Inexplicable were your real horses were gashing them all night.

As a fan these kind of loses are just brutal. Because their fans know they had a chance to win. Kick FG and now your home fans are cranked up. Players feed off that energy. Not making first down had opposite effect. Fans sensed it was a bad decision.

Yup.
Oh well... it's a bunch of kids getting paid to play a game.

Did Frazier come back from the fumble? Is he finally done

I was super confused when Bobo gave it to the white guy around the edge on 4th and 1. Wasn’t it like 4th and a foot?

I thought Baker is one of the best DC in the league?

Well what do you suppose they do? Defend a trick play and let a run up the middle go?

Quite the opposite is true and played into their decision.
guarantee a FG there near 10yd line when you were 1 yard short of setting up your first lead would have been a letdown and a Bama win . He went for it precisely for reasons you said- to shift the game and bring the oressure.
