It wasn’t just the defense sucking

Everyone including Petrino needs to go imo

Wouldn’t be mad at completely cleaning house but at a certain point an offense is going to let go of the rope when the defense is this bad

Exactly this. It was a bad game, but the defense was literally quitting in front of them. Not the most inspiring thing to see.

The turnover on downs at the start of the 2nd half is literally the only Notre Dame drive that didn't end in a touchdown.

And would still have been 4-0 coming into this game with even a mediocre defense.

I wouldn’t be mad if he stayed, he knows how to call plays. But I’m of the belief he’s lost an ‘it’ factor that helped him be successful before.

We need coaches with that ‘it’ factor, with that fire to change our culture.

I just don't think it's the OC's fault when you score 30+ every game and go 2-2.

That should not happen. I'm not gonna split hairs about the offensive production when the defense gives up 41, 32, and 56 in the losses.

Idk why we struggle in the 2nd half. But BP is still an elite level play caller. Guess we could debate how much responsibility for executing falls on him, but his play calling isn’t an issue.

Example. 1st drive. 3 and 4 we drop/ bobble a wide open pass for a first down. Settle for a FG.

You shouldn’t have to spend NIL money to find guys that can catch and hold on to the ball. Focus and effort issue.

Chewing arse and demanding execution on the sidelines. I think putting him up in the booth is keeping him too far removed from the players and action. He needs to be able to grab a QB, WR, or RB by the pads and get in their face, drilling important things into them.

I'm convinced if he was on the sidelines we don't fumble against Memphis. He would've been down there before the play preaching ball security being the most important part of that play after what had happened the week before. I don't think that's the only play he would've had an impact on either, certainly some things we saw today and against OM as well.

Watch our offense... we don't have a scheme problem. It's personnel (Taylen making bad decisions and turnovers)

If you want to put some of that on Bobby that's fine. I'm just saying he's still out there scheming open receivers almost every play. I don't know if he still has the drive to be HC, but he still knows offense.

When the team quits it doesn’t matter.

This team is cancer and it’s been metastasizing for 3 years.

All roads lead to one place.

Petrino is a gold jacket green jacket situation, who gives a shite? Stop arguing over ridiculous shite when the culture of the whole program is dead.

Calling plays doesn’t matter when everyone has quit and that’s obviously the case. You think the offense is going to be motivated to execute watching the defense sleepwalk 3 games in a row? 2 of which the offense played their asses off.

It’s clearly totally toxic, even trying to talk about what the offense did or didn’t do today is just yelling at the clouds.

I don't expect any type of salvaging this team. I'm just speaking to whether it makes sense to try to keep Petrino around. I'm not opposed to going with an up and comer type, but it just depends. I'd take Petrino over Lunney for example
