Damn what a terrible week. This is the worst of it all though. Rudi was the guy that got our running game back on the map. I can still see Rudi taking those Wyoming defenders on the ride of their life. RIP for an Auburn legend.

Sadly we only had Rudi for one year, but man it was fun watching him play running back. He was a hoss.

The tale is that they were going to some two-year community college in Kansas scouting a Quarterback, trying to remember, maybe the kid from Marietta? Anyways, they are watching the game and the running back is just killing folks. The coaches go right to the coach to find out who that guy is. It was Rudi Johnson. They asked what school he was committed to, who was talking to him. He was on no one's radar. No one was recruiting. Crazy!

Citrus bowl that year was the first bowl game I ever went to, lots of fun except for Anthony Thomas running all over us.

That backfield that year, Rudi Johnson and Heath Evans.

He had a kind heart and did a lot to help charities for sick children. His Auburn family will keep him in our hearts. Prayers for his family and friends

There's a name that will live in infamy around here.

RIP in Rudi, man, that really sucks.

Think CTE may have played a part? Being serious and not being controversial..

When i first got to auburn i was working at the old j&m 2 when it was beside Winn Dixie. One of my first days this dude walks in with the most massive legs I've ever seen. Turned out to be rudi Johnson, a week or so later i was watching him drag Wyoming defenders all over the field and he almost single handily took us to Atlanta that year.

Terrible news, rip rudi
