Derrick Henry would have probably been a HOF middle linebacker, too.

Exactly.

Would be another Patrick Willis.

This isn't the dig the retarded OP thinks it is.

He'd have more money as a LB.

And told him he'd have to wait a couple years to hit the field as an RB. Even the greats whiff sometimes.

I think it says more about DH's athleticism than it does about WM's judgement

That was my point. All coaches recruiting make mistakes.

There are some many stories like these. Les Miles wanted Dak Prescott to be a tight end and Jamarr Chase a defensive back

You don't win the Heisman at LB. Being a modern Heisman winner is worth about $500k to a million a year.

$500k to a million a year in terms of what? In terms of NIL money now? Well, that wasn't around in 2012 when Derrick Henry signed an LOI. However, when Derrick Henry was in college, it was typically more lucrative in the NFL to be an elite MLB than an elite RB. The NFL doesn't pay a premium because you won a Heisman trophy (for example, Derrick Henry).

As to Muschamp's preference, I think Henry could have been a HOF linebacker as well. I guess we'll never know, but it wasn't a terrible opinion to have based on his size and athleticism coming out of high school.
