Everybody is so enamored with John Mateer they are missing a killer season brewing for Taylen Green. Completing 71% w/ 10 TDs in 2 games. QBR of 205

With a big game vs Ole Miss (which I fully expect) he could be an early Heisman hopeful.

Mateer can sling the shite outta the ball. has a quick release and is not afraid to push the ball down the field. His release point gets him into trouble at times when the ball sails so there's definitely a weakness to his game. Just have to put that pressure on him and he will throw it into coverage.

He also is mobile as frick. Got a little wiggle to him that most Qbs dont possess. Dude is player

I have to see more of Green before i make a determination if he is better.

eta: Green can run like a deer and has a great throwing motion. he tends to stare down his WRs and throw into coverage. He's very fortunate to have Petrino calling the plays. He's great at scheming people open

Both will give Auburn fits

We’ll know more after this Saturday’s game. I have no comment about the best qb in the conference, there’s not enough data yet.

Don’t really disagree at this point. He seems less reckless. Mateer has Baker vibes without the accuracy.

Were the teams Arkansas played in the top 25 ranked teams?

Joey Football will be the biggest SEC QB name after this weekend with a statement game performance and win.

Mateer is a beast though. Haven't watched Green enough.

Because Mateer beat Michigan

Taylen Green has ran it up on Arkansas A&M and Arkansas State. That’s nice but it’s not much different than what Arch Manning did against San Jose State

Kansas is a much better team than any of the teams Arkansas has played. We will find more about each quarterback when playing SEC teams later this season.

Sounds like its worth a bill or two, but....I think the heisman winners gotta come from a top 25 team lol.

Green may not be the best QB in the SEC. But he is better than overrated Arch.

I seriously doubt he's as good as Matt Jones. Don't compare him to a legend like that until he's proven it.

The legend of Matt Jones is bigger than his talent. He was a fantastic runner, but you held your breath when he dropped back to throw. There's a reason he was a WR in the NFL.

If Green had a 10th of the hype Arch gets, he'd be the heisman front runner by far. Hogs by 50.

Yeah Green with Petrino coaching him is gonna be a problem.

Haven't watched Mateer but just a little against Michigan.

Im sure they'll both look like Heisman contenders against Auburn.
