Sooners are legit. They could make a run this year.

I agree he looked awesome physically, and to me he should be a Heisman front runner, but throwing was not top tier accurate. Also, let’s wait and see just how good UM is. OU could afford to manage that game because Underwood was not up to the moment as a true freshman.

Yep. He will run the ball. Nuss refuses to run the ball. It's Mateer and it isn't close.

Legit top Hesiman contender if he keeps it up

He could be the best QB we've seen this decade.

He's a beast but he also looks very prone to picks and batted passes, especially with that side arm throwing motion. Also I noticed he can make highlight reel plays and then one hop a 5 yard out the next play or two later.
It's way too early to judge everything. Michigan is a one dimensional team and Mateer didn't need to do too much to beat them. He's great though am not downplaying him. Big fan of his fire and toughness.
It should be a very exciting showdown when the Sooners come to Neyland this year.

They have an extra week to prepare for Bama while we will be coming off of the LSU game. We saw what Venebles did last year with a preparation advantage. I’m expecting DeBoer’s first loss at home in that one (assuming Vandy, UT, and LSU don’t get it first).

His interview after the game was good as well. He seems like the real deal.

He's got an old school toughness mentality to him.

UM was 8-5 last year and is starting a true freshman at QB. OU is fools gold.

I agree with this take, but Mateer is still really good.

Don't be mad the Sooners have a real QB now and you have their scraps.

Mateer has the same exact qualities that a Super Bowl Champion NFL QB had when he played at Alabama. Was great at running the ball, unbelievably great leadership qualities, but wasn’t a good passer (His passing has improved exponentially since he’s been in the NFL).
Give me a QB like Hurts and Mateer all day, every day. They are winners.

Too early, but I like what I see so far.

Football season self-ban bet OU vs AU or you’re just an ignorant mouth breather. Can only post in BBall threads until December for the loser.

He’s legit.
He’s a Jackson Arnold that can actually pass.

He is good. Definitely an upgrade from last year. (And Arnold appears to be an upgrade from last year as well.)
Few things though.
He is going to have a good number of interceptions. It is just the way he plays. Sort of has that Mayfield/Favre gene.
The sidearm delivery is not ideal.
Would like to see him not try to throw every single pass on a rope.
Hope Hawkins is ready because Mateer is going to take a lot of punishment with his style of play.

I have serious doubts he can stay healthy with that running style.
Other than that, he looked like a guy I would want as the QB leading my team.

You want to ban bet over posting facts? Deboner is hurting you.

It's not "last year" and Michigan would kick the shite out of Auburn
