it seems inevitable that lane kiffin is the one who is supposed to sit on the bama throne (unless bama wont ever hire him). i see all the names of the deboer replacements (hypothetical since we wont pay his buyout) and there is only one man who just feels like its meant to be.. Lane kiffin... maybe he fails dramatically, maybe he succeeds...maybe at the very least we are ENTERTAINED. Maybe he wouldnt take the job. But instead of wasting years id rather flush the buyout money and let him get started. To be a legendary bama coach you gotta have some flair and charisma. that being said, he has a cushy arse gig at ole piss, but maybe there is something deep inside him to want to try to beat nick saban's acomplishments at alabama

Ole Miss spent a lot of $ last season for Ole Miss to not make the playoffs with a pretty easy schedule

Lane got a raise and extension at Ole Miss right after he lost his last 5 of 6 games

You think he's going to leave that for a place that wants to run every coach out of town that isn't named Nick Saban?

Y'all are fricked, deal with it.

You’re in the bargaining stage of the grief process. Keep healing.

You realize the longer that Nick Saban is gone and the longer that Deboer loses, the less the Bama job looks appealing to Kiffin?

Especially when with the eventual drop off in recruiting. NIL is a game changer.

To the contrary, Deboer gets the coach replacing the legend stigma out of the way

And move to a team that can only afford a $20 mil roster...? Why would he downgrade like that?

With Nick Saban still around the program, I can't see him ever signing off on hiring Lane. And that's if Lane even wants to entertain it.

The fact of the matter is, there is no obvious replacement for Deboer right now. Kirby isn't leaving UGA. Dabo isn't leaving Clemson. Day isn't leaving OSU. Harbaugh isn't leaving Michigan. Lanning already turned Bama down once and has no reason to leave Oregon. Sark isn't leaving Texas. It gets real iffy after those guys.

I love Lane..... As long as he is at your school and not mine...

I'd be fine with Deboer tanking BAMA for 2-3 more seasons... then Kiffin coming in and resurrecting Bama to the 8-9 win level that they are destined to be for a while...

I know, right?! Recruiting in the NIL has been horrendous for Bama.

This one is legit. The first “hire Lane” of the 2025 season gentleman. Took 2 weeks.

Bama is gonna have to take some time on the other side. It’s just the cycle
