Wommack should’ve never been hired. His only good defense as the DC (not HC) was the short 2020 season at Indiana. He had usually average G5 caliber defenses as the DC (his defenses got better when he was not the DC but the HC)

Yeah, this is definitely not a resume builder for Womack. I couldn't even watch all of it because it got so embarrassing.

The players effort is awful and they got dominated on the line and cannot rush the passer but Womack is out of his league.

Can we fire Wommack today and hire Brooks Austin? What the frick has he been doing in the offseason if not coaching our guys how to play football and studying film?

Watch the whole video. Points out that the effort was better than we realized, the d allignment put them in bad position over and over again. Cover 3 or variant with little adjustment all day.

Wommack seriously reminds me of a kid playing NCAA on Xbox but the kid isn't any good at the game. Just spam 3 or 4 plays and hope for the best.

It really just makes no sense why we didn't play a stacked box and let our guys play downhill. We had to like our 1 on 1 matchups between our starting corners and their wideouts. We knew Gus wanted to run the ball. We did the same thing that didn't work for 60 minutes.

The only "finally, a good defensive playcall" we had all afternoon was when we brought Sabb off the edge in a situation that Castellanos had killed us with his legs all day. And what do you know, the safety was able to mirror him athletically and get him on the ground for a sack.

I'd just really like for him to explain the reasoning aside from "we need to execute better" You don't run a dime at the goal line and you don't run a bear against 5 wide- so why were we so far off the LOS against a power run game? Is the guy so inept that he only knows 1 formation? It's just maddening. Every time we see and offense that wants to run the ball, we can not stop it.

Byrne needs to understand that maybe we can't fire Deboer this year, but his fate is tied to him and his arse is on the line as well. When you have amateur youtubers pointing out your schematic flaws, that is a major problem. KW should be immediately stripped of playcalling duties, and if I'm an FSU fan I'm questioning why the hell we didn't score on every drive

Was I the only one to see him calling plays, trying to hide his calls behind his index card playsheet? Sad, but I laughed my arse off when I saw it. That image should be plastered everywhere.

i would bet we will see a lot of similar plays like these all season long. This might be the worst coaching staff at a major program.

I'm with you. These are professional athletes. If some NFL player is dogging it out there, nobody blames the assistant coaches. We have a collection of pussies who twerk on TikTok and stroke their Disney plush toys when they get their feelings hurt. I'm glad the entire college football world is laughing at them because they deserve it.

This is going to be unpopular, but the video actually gave me hope. Things appear to be a lot more fixable than I felt while watching the game.

Honestly, it appeared that leveraging the wrong shoulder accounted for like 50% of their big plays (blown assignments were also a problem (e.g., two guys crashing on the RB on read-option)). I've watched the players work on leveraging the correct shoulder in the practice videos, so why they suddenly forgot how to do so in a game is concerning, but it's fixable.

To address the other issue of just physically getting their asses kicked, again, some of that can be fixed with better technique. If Hubbard and Jefferson focus on the correct technique, they likely aren't getting put on their asses when getting blocked in space.

With all that said, I completely agree with his point about guys likely not getting enough practice reps. We rotated so frequently in the game that it's impossible that all those players got an adequate number of quality reps in practice. What's that old saying? Don't just practice until you get it right, but practice until you can't get it wrong? That certainly didn't happen when preparing for FSU.

The problem I have with this is that these same fixable issues were fixable after the loss to Vandy last year, and the loss to OU, and now here the loss to FSU. The staff has not shown an ability to correct these fixable issues. I was optimistic about Wommack going into the season, but he ain’t the guy for us.

That was good. Had me laughing at a few points of how pathetic Bama looked but at the same time I didn't feel like I was actually watching real Alabama football players. Bizarro world.

Early last season I heard an analyst - I think it was Joel Klatt AFTER he broadcast the Bama / Wisconsin game (or it could have been prior, but it was around that time), and he spoke specifically toward concerns he had with the defensive scheme being vulnerable to the edge runs.

If a TV analyst knows we can be had there, what do we expect from high-level offensive coaches? Obviously other teams know that we fundamentally are flawed in our scheme, but our own coaches don't realize it.

I didn't see that. I would have preferred to see that. All I saw was a mush rush (or guys not able to get any pressure at all) and him standing back, doing whatever he wanted.

Also I don't even know if you can say he can't pass. We just didn't make him. He only had 14 attempts. When you rush for 230, dropping back and slinging it doesn't make sense.

I saw our DBs and LBs kind of standing around 5-10 yards in the defensive backfield looking like they had no idea what to do at the same time a ball carrier was running past the line of scrimmage.
