Work on getting things cleaned up the next couple weeks. Go into UGA as a decided underdog with no one giving us a chance. DeBoer in the past has done well in the underdog role, Kirby has a mental block against Bama, we have the talent to do it. Stranger things have happened.

All of sudden people will be talking 11-1 and competing for a national championship.

I wish I shared your belief here but I have zero faith in the staff or the players (98 per cent of them). I'd love to be wrong but I just don't see it.

Not buying what you're selling. Bama is well on their way to being a HOCO opponent for non-power 5 teams.
They really mean it now when the chant "We want Bama" bc they know its a dub for them.

It's never as good as it seems, and it's never as bad as it seems. They have 3 weeks to get it figured out, but who knows what will happen. I could see them going into Athens and winning, and I could see them getting their arse stomped.

Tell me, and be specific, what you saw from this last weekend on both sides of the ball that makes you believe this is possible.

Hell, Wisconsin is chomping at the bit at this point… and believing, and why wouldn’t they?
Vandy, OK and Gus gave everyone a blueprint to beat Alabama.

Georgia?!

We need to pray they don’t no-show this ULM game first and beat Wisconsin second.

I think we look better against ULM but win a struggle game against Wisconsin....but then go and beat UGA

We beat Jawja last year and then lost to Vandy.

Not really. They beat UGA last year then lost to Vandy, OU and Michigan.

What would change the narrative is if they went 11-0 or 10-1 from here on out and made the playoffs.

This isn't a situation that can just be "cleaned up". We have an infectious rotting disease within the culture of our program.

I can guarantee you Kirby Smart is foaming at the mouth for this game

Forget Geogia. I'm worried about the struggle win/loss against ULM. We give another half arse effort & we'll be in trouble Saturday.

If we struggle with ULM then DeBoser will be on a seat so hot he won't be able to sit. The fan base has already just about had enough. An ugly game this week or next will be another step towards dismissal.

I'm sure you could say the same for every game from 2020-2024 as well.

Much like our mental bedwetting against Florida at the turn of the century, I won't ever expect to beat alabama until I see us actually do it.

Yea, that's the problem. I'm sure the players will be the first ones in line to tell everyone about the standard being the same, yadda yadda yadda.

We're talking about a team that admitted to being complacent and thinking they won the game after one drive. Expecting them to just handle success this season if it ever comes is a bridge too far for me. I don't disagree that we could feasibly beat Georgia. It will be easy for our guys to get up for that game and Georgia doesn't really do anything schematically to give us a bunch of problems in game prep. This group of players hasn't shown any ability to keep an even keel though. They could beat Georgia, win their "revenge" game against vandy, and then it's right back to coast mode and crowning themselves before a road trip morning kickoff at Missouri. I know how that ends

Nothing changes until the trust is established and we regularly beat teams we should. 4 losses to unranked teams in 14 games is insane. We could beat GA by 50 and I still would not feel comfortable against any other team the next week.

Losing now and then happens. I’m not unreasonable. That’s sports. Losing almost every time you face a bad team on the road is garbage. We have going on 2 years of evidence that we’ll roll over in those spots. Give me a few years where that doesn’t happen and the narrative changes

I don't think Deboer will be at Alabama long enough to build up the trust he's destroyed in losing to all these terrible teams.

Let’s take it one step at a time. Can we fix the approach thats been taken and the mind set, yes. Can we fix physical issues, no.

I would not be suprised one iota if Bama beats us because as you note

quote:

Kirby has a mental block against Bama,

this appears to be true.

That said, I don't think KB is capable of righting the ship even despite a win in Athens. I honestly can't conceive of how he was so successful anywhere with his happy-go-lucky, laid back, hands-off coaching style. My win or lose, right or wrong, live or die Marine worldview just isn't capable of rationally explaining it.
