Sun Devils will come into a night game at Davis Wade as a top 10 team and a 7-point favorite. It's already moved to 6.5 so some money coming in on State.

This is an interesting game. Talent wise, Mississippi State is the 24th most talented team in the nation (although 14th in the SEC). Arizona State is 33rd.

The Arizona State defense is really good, but they gave up 19 points to FCS Northern Arizona. State will have to stop the run - they got gashed last year by Skattebo, but he's in the NFL now.

This is a game where the SEC can pickup an early season upset over a playoff contender. This game was 30-23 last year in the desert, and State looks much better, especially on defense.

State has a chance to win for sure. I only saw a few highlights from Az St game, but honestly had no clue Leavitt had the wheels he does. After looking at the stats from the Southern Miss game it looks like their qb was their leading rusher. State is going to have to contain Leavitt and he’s not one I’d want to get into a shootout with.

Should be a fun game though. I can see it going either way. I don’t know if Az State was vanilla with their schemes against NAU, just don’t know much about them other than the qb is one of the best in the country.

We shut Leavitt down last year. He was 10-20 for 66 yards. He'll be better this year because he doesn't have Skattebo.

USM had 300 yards of offense and a very mobile QB who was the preseason player of the year in the Sun Belt. 120 of those yards came win the last five minutes when we were up 34-10 and they had two garbage drives. State was actually graded as the #4 defense in the country Week 1 - and a lot of teams played bad competition.

I still think State is a 4-8 team that will struggle to find a win in the SEC, but it feels like it's a game that State can be competitive in.

I’m glad that damn Skattebo (or whatever his damn name was) is gone.

They could have ran him through the B gap all night long last year and still won comfortably.

He was like greased up deaf guy.

ASU beat writers were unhappy with both lines. They should have dominated an FCS team, but they struggled a bit, and ASU killed themselves with 12 penalties

Leavitt is good. Tyson Brown had 12 catches, and the new RB had 150 total yds.

Yep, they were 30 point favorites at home against NAU and won 38-19. NAU easily covered. ASU did not take a 3 score lead until 11 seconds left in the third quarter and Leavitt was playing with 2:00 left in the game.

I feel better after seeing our tackling against Southern Miss. We had to have led the nation in broken tackles going for 20+ yards last year.

This is a big game for Lebby.

A win doesn’t magically make us a playoff contender, but it definitely would give him something to build off of.

Watched the ASU game last night. The new RB is pretty darn good. Levitt and Tyson will both be first round picks this year.

So we trade out Skatteboo for a first rounder?

No. Jordan Tyson was on the team last year. He’s a top 3 WR in CFB. I don’t remember the name of the new RB.

KennyDillingham is one helluva coach. I can see him coaching in the SEC in a year or two.

After watching the SEC opening weekend I think we can pull off a win or two. Arky and Missouri are the most winnable. Aggie didn’t impress me either but they always have a lot of talent

They don't have Skattebo this year. They will not remain in the top 10. I like State to cover if not straight up win the game.

It's going to be harder for Arizona state to win their conference this year

He said he is happy where he is at. He had a chance to leave at the end of last season but he told everyone that he is staying put.
