Very impressive Auburn fans. I love the aggressive run attack from Arnold. It’s going to be a fun season watching you guys

But what if they ever need a QB?

Yeah I don’t know, too many floaters from Arnold’s arm tonight

Maybe, programs, specifically their fan bases who never even saw the field in H.S. shouldn’t put the entire weight of a program on a true freshman’s shoulders
Congrats to Arnold you made it through the meat grinder and came out better for it on the other side. Reminds me of Rattler at USC after he escaped Norman as well…without the hand cannon.

He's not a true freshman though. He started most of the games he played at OU last year. And that's not exactly a low pressure/expectation situation (and he had some success at times). The fact that you perhaps mistakenly thought he was a true freshman ought to maybe raise some flags however.
He played well, but I expected a rather different version of Arnold than what was seen - and what we saw a lot of last year.
This game may just turn ought to be one of those playing-to-what-the-defense-gave-us games. We'll see.

Baylor's defense was atrocious. Arnold had nothing but green space in front of him. How about we don't wildly overreact to Week 1 for once OP?

Give him another 100 yards passing in the game and he is the second coming of Cam to the Aubie Nation

So....... It would have "impressed you" if Jackson Arnold got cute and passed to double covered receivers instead of reading the defense and choosing to do what was a guaranteed win for us??? How impressive would it have been for Hugh freeze to have to stand at a microphone and explain to the media why he abandoned the run to show off his passing attack. Baylor DARED us to run. So we did

He did not force things.
Counted the box.
Took what they gave us.
We are averaging 38ppg this year so that is progress.
We are averaging over 300 yards rushing per game.
The analytics show that those are good numbers.
Henry W Robinson would be proud.

Auburn fans needs to realize that Arnold at his best is just average to good qb nothing special. He did take what the defense gave him but sec teams will be stacking vs the run and all that rpo crap wont work. He is going to need to beat teams with his arm and that right there is his downfall. He gets happy feet in pocket . SEC los is different you will not have the time he had last night to throw and he didnt look great in the pocket at all. Auburn looks better but they will not be beating any elite teams with Arnold at qb. He played exactly like that last night or better vs Bama... thats his ceiling.
OU will be his first real test and I suspect he will be blitzed to the end of time.

That's the way I see it. Auburn used their WR to spread the field and pull the secondary far from the line of scrimmage. Since their running game was pretty good, the Baylor LBs had to momentarily react to the RBs. This left Baylor's defense vulnerable to Arnold's running.
Baylor's defensive front couldn't contain Arnold or get to him.. A team with a more athletic front 7 will contain and stuff the running game leaving LBs to spy or go after Arnold if he does break containment. Arnold will either panic pass as the containment closes in, or try to run which would have higher chance of a sack with a better defensive front. What Auburn doesn't want is Arnold forcing the ball into coverage. Saw him plenty when he was at OU and he can frick things up if you get containment and pressure on him.
The big stat for Arnold last night was ZERO INTs!

He played a good game, could pose a threat to everyone this season.

Yeeeeaah so if they stack the run...... We'll just pass to the single covered 5* receivers? Ok
good deal

If you can’t tell I’m exaggerating the performance, Henry W Robinson can’t help you.

Completely agree. I saw very similar things last year.
Still not seeing the field well and is too quick to take off running.
That works against some teams.
I'm surprised Baylor did not focus more on containing him and forcing him to throw.

Regardless...
Jackson Arnold had no help at OU. Lousy line, depleted receiving room, RBs either hurt, ineffective or fumbling.
I think it is fair to say that he isn't the five star turned future first round guy that he was projected to be... but i bet he will end up being a pretty good QB.
I think he will improve in his passing with more time at Auburn.
And as everybody saw last night... he is exceptional as a running QB.

He did not lose the game.
He did not force things.
It is what it is.
We will see where it goes from here.
