The very Red State of Tennessee put a stop to that. And most Vandy fans don’t agree with that hideous procedure. But I am sure the holy fans of Mississippi have never sinned.

Louisiana has the third highest rate of inbreeding behind Kentucky and Florida.

If you single out Acadia, it has the highest rate in the country.

Cajun Inbreeding Study

There is a genetic disorder named Acadian Usher Syndrome caused by inbreeding.

quote:

Acadian Usher Syndrome developed because of the insular nature of the Cajun community, which was strongly united by a mutual Catholicism, the French-speaking language, early marriages and the geographical and social isolation of south Louisiana. The Cajuns are among the largest displaced groups in the world, said Doucet.

Everyone else just calls them LSU fans.

Do you think people who marry their cousins worry about laws regarding marrying your cousin?

The majority of inbreeding comes from incest.

Acadian Usher Syndrome is a product of this inbred community. The disease, which causes severe deafness at birth and progressive blindness, is linked to a special chromosome and is primarily segregated in southwest Louisiana among the Acadian population.
